DIY STRIPED RAINBOW BACKDROP
By now you’ve probably seen photos from our T-shirt launch and to say it was filled with plenty of rainbow colours would be an understatement right?! Well, as you can imagine we wanted the backdrop of the images to be as bright, bold and eye catching as possible so we set out to make a rainbow striped backdrop and it really was one of the easiest backdrops we ever made! Not only was it super effective but it cost us less then £25 to make too! What a bargain right?! If you’d like to make your own for a photo booth backdrop at a wedding or perhaps just to create a statement wall at a party then here’s how!
YOU WILL NEED:
- A1/A2 Sized card in a variety of colours
- A ruler
- Scissors
- Double sided tape / bluetac (If you’re creating this at a venue be sure to check that they’ll allow double sided tape or bluetac on their walls)
STEP 1:
Start by measuring out the size of the strips you’re going to cut out. We sized ours 8cm wide meaning we could cut 6 strips out per piece of card.
STEP 2:
Cut out all of your pieces of card into strips, trying to cut as straightly as you can! It was at this point that I wish I had a guillotine that would cute an A1 piece of card but it honestly didn’t take that long to cut them by hand, it was more the pressure of cutting in a straight line that got me!
STEP 3:
We found it easier to put strips of double sided tape ready onto each of the strips of card so we could just stick them straight up one by one.
STEP 4:
Start adhering your strips to the wall, we found that 3 strips of one colour placed on top of each other was plenty tall enough for us to stand in front of. We also left a gap of about 4cm in between each other.
STEP 5:
Keep going until all of your colours are lined up and stuck to the wall! Easy peasy!
