ESCAPE TO THE ENGLISH COAST WITH THESE SUMMER WEDDING IDEAS
After months of snow and ice, the weather outside is turning. The temperature is warmer, the sun is shining and we can finally start thinking about summer. So, today we are saying goodbye to the cold snap with a beautiful sun-filled shoot, right here on the English coast. Get ready to enjoy the escapism, the styling and scenery will transport you to sandy shores and gently lapping seas…
“This inspirational shoot was designed for a Photography workshop, but as with all shoots I design I am really thinking about inspiration for brides and grooms to take away for their own celebration styling.” Began designer and stylist Elle of The Artful Event Co.
“With the massive world of Pinterest inspiration available to us now, our boards are full of weddings from all over the world, we are often looking at beautiful images from Marrakesh, to the Greek, or Balearic Islands, beautiful images from Spanish and Italian weddings, not to mention sunny affairs from across the pond such as Australia and New Zealand. Sometimes recreating these details for a wedding in dear old Blighty might seem unlikely, and unachievable!”
“For this shoot I wanted to show how you can inject your English wedding with some of those lovely exotic influences from around the globe, right here on British soil – or in the case of our shoot – Sand!”
“We wanted to show that it’s possible to recreate the gorgeous scenes we often find of coastal weddings on Pinterest right here on UK shores.”
“Our styling takes influence from the Mediterranean and Morocco with an exotic pallet of blues, aqua and green finished of with brass details.” She explained.
“We used seaside jewel colours to design our tablescape and shared our inspiration with with our artists and designers, so that every element of the styling reflects these influences and colours.”
“Although, our shoot location was on the beach, any of these styling ideas would bring the same exotic feel to a marquee or indoor wedding venue. Whatever the weather!” Amber added.
“Pattern and texture are very important when designing a look for your big day, think about injecting colour with your linen, or your glassware and china. Add a warm luxurious feel by using brass accessories such as candlesticks and vases.”
“Our beautiful dresses were chosen to be suitable for an English coastal wedding, they were light, comfortable and had lots of movement and texture, whilst still being easy to pick up and carry if you fancied dipping your toes in the ocean or running along in the surf! I am a huge fan of the wedding jumpsuit we have featured, how perfect for a beach wedding, at home or abroad!”
“The models hair and make up were relaxed and natural, if you are planning a coastal wedding be prepared for the British weather, its often windy at the beach, so going for something more natural will be much more practical than having a do that should look immaculate.”
“Finally think about your stationery, and even your cake as part of the décor, both of these elements are as much a part of your design scheme as your flowers!”
