FALL IN LOVE WITH MEXICO IN THIS SECRET GARDEN STYLED SHOOT
YOU GUYS! I am absolutely obsessed with this styled shoot, everything about it speaks right to my heart with all of the authentic Mexican details and bright bold colours! Me and Emily both adore Mexico so you can image how much we fell in love with this shoot when we saw it! PLUS they included several vegan food options and even a vegan and gluten free cake! Could this be anymore US?! See for yourselves how stylish, exotic and beautiful it is! (oh and did we mention the whole thing was shot in London with all products sourced in the UK?! Talk about bringing Mexico to you!)
“We included genuine Mexican tiles and plates for dinnerware and coasters, Jarritos drinks (popular fruit flavoured soda in Mexico), Cholula hot sauce, bright napkins and table runner-all sourced in the UK, so easily replicable for couples looking for Mexican inspiration for an otherwise blank space. We decorated with Papel Picado, gorgeous bright flowers, lots of succulents and cacti, some Frida Kahlo inspired touches and an amazingly bright cake. We kept to gold and copper metallics to really fit with the theme.”
“The menu was chosen to reflect authentic Mexican food with several vegan options, and the wedding cake is vegan and gluten free, to suit all guests. Who said a vegan gluten free cake was boring?!
The venue is the Secret Garden of The Avalon, Clapham. The outdoor area is huge, with plenty of entertaining space and an outdoor bar, pizza oven and BBQ. Couples can really bring their ideas to the space and bright colours work really well with their white panel walls, trees and foliage growing all around the garden. The secret garden is entirely enclosed, it’s a little oasis within a minutes walk of Clapham South tube. The team at The Avalon really love having kids and dogs-so the enclosed garden is a perfect setting for little ones and furry friends to come and celebrate too.”
“The shoot was named ‘Fell in Love in Mexico’ and shows how to share a couple’s special part of the world with all their wedding guests if they can’t elope. Traditional Mexican touches were all sourced in the UK (which can be difficult and very time consuming) so all the suppliers we sourced our Mexican touches from are: Original Mexican tiles were used for coasters from Milagros (store is in Columbia Road, London), Jarritos Mexican sodas sourced Mex Grocer also an amazing website for authentic Mexican foods! Original enamel Mexican plates and Frida Kahlo candles from Blackout store in Brighton and traditional Papel Picado from Viva La Frida.”
“DIY items were parrot napkins and the cactus table runner, chosen from www.fabricsgalore.co.uk to reflect the bold colours and plants native to Mexico. I ordered in bulk and cut napkins to size. We chose really bright, exotic flowers to bring a bold Mexican vibe to London!”
