THIS DOG LOVERS WEDDING IS TOO CUTE TO HANDLE!
Kimberly and Kevin are obviously in love with each other, but as you can probably tell from the photo above, they also REALLY love their pups! Bride, Kimberly heads Players for Pits and her love for the charity clearly shows. Their chosen wedding venue was the Metropolis Ballroom in Arlington Heights, IL and did a fantastic job of ensuring sure their motley crew was able to be involved in the day.
“We chose our venue because we wanted a industrial type city feel but in a suburban neighborhood. City traffic is no joke! ” laughed Kimberly..
“We landed on the Metropolis Ballroom (which is in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights, IL) because we had previously been there for a small family event and loved it. Its a large space that holds about 200+ guests, has an adorable veranda (perfect for summer time weddings), a fantastic bridal suite to get ready in, a room perfect for cocktail hour while the reception is being set up, and floor to ceiling windows in the main space. It was right up our alley!”
“I guess you could say our theme/vibe was bohemian chic. Lots of greenery with modern touches and random pops of color. Personally, we didn’t want the typical “two colors” and base everything off of that. We wanted to create more of a vibe or feel in the atmosphere.” She explained.
“We did ZERO DIY. I work full time as a hairstylist and run my own business. In my free time I volunteer all my time with a dog rescue, whilst Kevin also works and goes to school full time and also volunteers in rescue with me. There was no time to do anything DIY and we are SO glad we chose not to do anything ourselves… It was a lot less headaches!”
“Nichole Johnston of XO Design Co was our savior! We hired her early on in the planning process (we were engaged for 1.5 years before we tied the knot) and she truly worked absolute magic. From planning to decor and everything in between, we couldn’t have pulled this off with out her.”
“I had no fears in the lead up to the wedding day, it was more excitement and wanting to have fun and enjoy all of our family and friends. We knew that everything would go off without a hitch because we had so many great people helping us achieve our wedding day goals!” she added.
” My best advice to future couples/brides/etc…is to make sure to eat food and drink water leading up until the ceremony. And be present! There is a lot going on so make sure to take in every single moment with everyone. And lastly, hire a planner if you do not have time to dedicate to planning. It was literally the BEST thing I could have done.”

Why I Love Dog Lovers Weddings
Dog lovers’ weddings are simply pawsome! As a wedding blogger, I can’t help but adore these unique celebrations where furry friends take center stage. It’s not just about having your beloved pet at your wedding; it’s about infusing the day with unconditional love, joy, and a whole lot of wagging tails.
One reason I love dog lovers’ weddings is the sheer joy they bring. Dogs have a magical way of making people smile, and their presence adds an extra layer of happiness to the celebration. They become part of the family on this special day, reminding everyone of the simple, unconditional love that pets provide.
Planning a dog-friendly wedding is also a fun challenge that allows for creativity. From custom doggy bow ties and floral collars to pet-friendly favors and treats, the possibilities are endless. Incorporating dogs into the wedding decor and activities not only showcases the couple’s love for their pets but also adds a whimsical, personalized touch to the event.
Moreover, these weddings often reflect a deeper symbolism. They celebrate the bond between humans and animals, highlighting values like loyalty, companionship, and unconditional love. For couples who consider their dogs as family, having them at the wedding is a testament to the importance of these values in their relationship.
There’s also the community aspect. Guests who are dog lovers themselves will undoubtedly appreciate the inclusion of pets in the celebration. It creates a relaxed, joyful atmosphere where everyone feels a bit more at home and connected.
In conclusion, dog lovers’ weddings are a delightful blend of love, joy, and personal touch. They make the day more memorable, not just for the couple, but for everyone involved. For a wedding blogger who thrives on unique and heartfelt celebrations, dog lovers’ weddings are a dream come true. They’re not just weddings; they’re celebrations of all forms of love—human and canine alike.
What an amazing way to incorporate pets into the wedding. Huge fan of the pups in the wedding attire!
