DIY ‘JUST MARRIED’ BEACH HAT
Wedding season is well and truly in full swing which means that a lot of you will be tying the knot and heading off on your honeymoon soon! Why not make yourself a cute little beach hat to take with you that shouts your newlywed status?! It’s such a fun accessory for the beach or pool and you never know, it may get you a free cocktail or two! Here’s how to make your own…
YOU WILL NEED:
- A floppy hat
- A Cricut machine (We’re using the Cricut Maker)
- Iron on material in the colour of your choice
- An iron or Cricut easy press
STEP 1:
Decide on your font in the Cricut Design space and size the text to however you feel fits the size of your hat! Just for reference, we sized our text 2 inches tall
STEP 2:
Set your Cricut machine to cut iron on material and feed your material into the machine using your sticky mat and hit go! Once the machine has finished cutting remove your mat from the Cricut.
STEP 3:
Use your weeding tool to remove away the access iron on and then it’s time to iron! We found the easiest way to do this was to cut the letters individually and place them onto the hat so we could follow the curve of the hat.
And that’s it! Job done! Super easy right?! We took this hat with us (along with a few other projects) to the Cricut Mountain Make-a-thon last week in Utah where were teaching a few workshops and we literally had THE BEST TIME!!
