EVERYTHING YOU TO NEED TO KNOW FOR BETTER “GETTING READY” WEDDING PICS
Exciting news! Myself and Mr T have finally booked our wedding venue. You may remember that we were planning on eloping to Mexico to get married but, after one or two set backs we’ve had a change of heart and the wedding will now be in the UK however more about that another time. Now the venue has been secured and the date set, it’s time for me to think about all the other things I need to book for the wedding day. Photography is going to be so important to me and now that I’ve officially chosen by bride squad, one of the things I look forward to is getting good “getting ready” photos of the three of us. So today I’m going to be sharing my top tips for acing those shots on your special day. (P.S if you’re wondering where these stunning robes are from check out The Lovely Little Label, these would make great gifts from your bridesmaids on the day and I think you’ll agree they look amazing in the photos!)
The Venue
First and foremost, be sure to plan your getting ready location well ahead of time! Many brides will often choose to get ready at home (why the hell not, it’s free!) but if you want even better photos it’s important to find somewhere with plenty of space for you and bridesmaids. If that isn’t readily available think about booking a hotel near to where your getting married or an AirBnB for something more unique. As for your photographer, they will thank you forever if you choose somewhere with lots of natural light and trust me the photos will look way better too. Don’t forget getting ready can sometimes be a bit messy so try to keep the area clear of any clutter at all times.
What to Wear
Of course you could just ask your bridesmaids to bring their fluffy dressing gowns and slippers but one rising bridal trend and one that we are fully on board with is coordinating getting ready outfits. We absolutely fell in love with these pretty floral robes from The Lovely Little Label but if these are a little to busy for you, they also come in a range of block colours with matching lace trim – perfect gifts for your bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding.
Make Time
It’s hard to get good getting ready photos without planning for it in your schedule. Although a lot of the images will be candid shots as you and your bridesmaids have your hair and makeup done, posed shots like the image above will mean you’ll have to take time out of your schedule, so be sure to account for it so your don’t run out of time later. I’d also recommend speaking to your photographer and hair and makeup artist about the shots you require beforehand so they can make sure your their timelines also match up.
Pop Open the Champagne
Don’t forget the champagne! This always makes a fun photo and is a great way of getting candid shots, especially if you have bridesmaids that are uncomfortable about posing in front of the camera. Make sure your bring glasses too, it’s well known that one or two sips of Prosecco the morning of, will calm those wedding day nerves.
Hair & Makeup
When it comes to getting ready photos, both you and your bridesmaids should look and feel at your best. Talk to your hair and makeup artist before the day to discuss the look your going for, so that they can make sure they have the right supplies to hand and that you and your bride squad are ready in advance.
Relax
Your wedding day is about making memories so above all take time to relax, enjoy being pampered and have fun with your bridesmaids. After months of planning, you deserve this!
Don’t forget, these cute and colorful robes plus much more are available from The Lovely Little Label, so check it out!
