DIY THESE MODERN PASTEL PAINTED GLASS WEDDING TABLE NUMBERS
I love DIY table numbers. I think they’re such an easy way to add to the table decorations and can really be an opportuhnity for oyu to bring your theme into the day more! Not to mention, you never have to actually make TONS of them so they’re not too time consuming! Today’s DIY table numbers are really simple to make, they create a high impact and also won’t cost a fortune! I love how modern they turned out too, here’s how to make your own…
YOU WILL NEED:
- Rectangle pieces of glass (We just bought a bunch of frames and used the glass out of those)
- Pastel colour paints (We used Valspar mixed paint in the colours Sweet Neroli, Creme de Menthe & Magical poetry)
- A paintbrush
- A Cricut Explore or Maker*
- Gold vinyl*
- Transfer tape*
*Please note you don’t HAVE to have a Cricut machine to complete this DIY, if you’ve got nice handwriting then you could always use a gold pen to draw on the table number, I just much prefer using vinyl since I don’t have those lovely handwriting skills!
STEP 1:
First things first you’ll want to paint those pieces of glass! Don’t overthink this stage too much, just grab your paintbrush and start brushing in different directions onto the glass. Make you don’t go all the way to the edges because I think they look a lot nicer with the glass left to be seen in the corners!
STEP 2:
Then allow the paint to fully dry, I found one coat of this paint to be more than enough because you only need to be seeing the brush strokes on the other side anyway, no need to put coat after coat on.
STEP 3:
Next it’s time to get that vinyl cut out! Open up the design space and type out the table text and numbers then choose a font you like! In our case we used ‘Veneer Clean’ for the word TABLE, and ‘Flashlight’ for the numbers. We then sized them to fit on our glass, set our machine to cut out vinyl and hit that go button!
STEP 4:
Once the machine has finished cutting out the vinyl, simply remove the excess vinyl and then use your transfer tape to place the vinyl onto the glass. Make sure you’re putting the vinyl on the reverse side of where you painted so it’s a nice smooth surface!
STEP 5:
Finally remove the transfer tape leaving the vinyl behind and repeat until all table numbers are complete!
Job done! See told you it was easy didn’t I? Of course you don’t have to use pastel colours either, you could paint the glass gold and have the numbers in white for a real classy look or go bright and bold with it! Whatever takes your fancy this DIY can be adapted easily to suit your taste! Happy crafting ya’ll! x
