CONFETTI INSPIRED SKI RESORT WEDDING
Jennifer and Daniel wanted a fun laid back feel to their big day. The couple got engaged on a ski trip in Snowshoe, WV so having their wedding at a ski resort was a natural fit!
“We chose Montage Mountain for a few reasons: The first is because the Jennifer grew up skiing at Montage with her family there. They spent countless hours on the snow doing what they love. The second, because the décor and the vibe of the lodge fit perfectly into our vision. The funky coal miner mural behind the bar with the dreamy pendant lights hanging down gave the space a modern look that fit our overall style. It was the right mix of fun and classy. The spectacular views surrounding the mountain were an added bonus!” Daniel told us.
“Jennifer’s vision for the wedding was “whimsical, romantic and fun.” We are a fun loving couple that loves to throw a GOOD party. We really enjoy coming up with little details and surprises that make big impact. Our wedding wasn’t going to be any different. Jennifer and her mom put together the entire event! Many of the elements were DIY with a little inspiration from Pinterest and the All Things Cricut Wedding Public Group on Facebook. From the flowers to the napkins, they had it covered.”
“The décor was black and white with pops of vibrant colors mixed with unexpected wedding elements like balloons and confetti. Bow tie napkins and striped table runners over black linens added a classic touch. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and know how to have a good time which we tried to have come across in our whimsical yet classy affair.” He added.
“Planning took a few months to actually get down to the details. Jennifer kept a master spreadsheet of everything from “to dos”, questions for vendors, payment schedules down to packing lists. My Aunt did all of the flowers which came out beautiful. They really pulled all the elements together. Many of the final details came together the week of (and the day before!) the wedding!”
“We both made it a point not to stress over the small stuff and remember that our wedding day was about our marriage, not about the wedding. If a balloon popped or something was out of place we knew in the scheme of things it wouldn’t matter. What mattered to us was that we had the time of our lives with the people we love.” Daniel told us.
“We spoke upfront about our must haves and the things that go unnoticed at weddings. We decided against favors, a photo booth, a champagne toast, bathroom baskets etc. Instead we upgraded our bar package and extended the reception an hour. We are SO happy with our decision which gave us more time to celebrate.”
“Advice for future couples would be to take a step back and take it all in on your wedding day. It truly is a blur! Don’t sweat the small stuff!”
