HOLD ON TO THE LAST DAYS OF SUMMER WITH THESE TROPICAL WEDDING IDEAS
This whimsical styled shoot will transport you to a world of fun and romance. With modern and stylish wedding decor, an explosion of colour and all things cool, it’s just what you need to see out the last days of summer.
“The theme was Summer of Love as it’s the season of romance and fun loving!” began event stylist, Keenda.
“It very much has the vibe of being in love and captures that dating period of butterflies and lust you have at the beginning of the relationship,” she explained.
“I wanted a bright and bold elegant modern shoot with a twist of quintessentially British infused with hints of tropical. Imagine bringing the outdoors in for that festival and whimsical feel that you are in your own whirlwind romance.”
“OXO2 is a breathtaking contemporary event space on the South Bank, boasting panoramic views across the Thames. It’s perfect for those who love London as it’s very iconic and within the OXO Tower itself! Additionally there is a pier outside for golden hour where the photographer can capture the couple and the silhouette of London’s backdrop,” Keenda told us.
“The rooms are bright and airy acting as a great blank canvas to create your own magical place as we did. With ample of space from the East to the West wing with a connecting room, you can have your ceremony and reception in one place!”
“We wanted to show how couples’ can carry their theme through different set ups of the wedding to have one cohesive production that feels like a wedding that is so essentially them. We also wanted to encourage them to think outside of the box and really create a wedding that reflects their personality. This could be with the design of the tablescape right through to the smaller details of creating that perfect lounge to enhance their guests’ experiences as well as their own.”
“Our lounge area had all the tropical boho vibes, doubling up as a photo backdrop as well as somewhere for guests to put their feet up and still enjoy the fun. The neon light added to the cool modern London vibe and really brought the place to life.”
“Balloons are a great way to make a statement and highlight any space you want everyone to look at. Therefore for the ceremony, I opted for a hexagon balloon structure to create a fun colourful backdrop. The dessert table also featured a balloon structure with giant flower bombs below and amazing sweet treats making the space all very immersive. The table itself was made from big giant letters spelling out LOVE, further enhanced by the gorgeous florals both real and fake!”
“Being a foodie I wanted an interactive focal point to the dinner table so had the caterers make crudités on a Ferris wheel. The tablescape was brought together with a table runner made of tropical foliage and bright mini pink pineapples as place card holders. More splashes of colour were added with vases of small florals, glassware, napkins and intricate funky name cards.”
“The bridal look for the ceremony was modern and elegant with a fairy-tale vibe. This was given an edgy embellishment with the hand painted peacock shoes and LED leather jacket. The bride had a beautiful up-do finished off with a bespoke handmade hair vine for that extra princess feel. For her second look the bride rocked a jumpsuit which was more fun and casual, with bright pink converses and a floral head piece. She also adorned her outfit further with a hand painted belt and handbag to match the summer of love theme.”
“Last but certainly not least, the groom wore a smart fun light blue suit adding personality through the bow tie and braces. For the ceremony the jacket certainly made him that handsome husband to be. To make the look more casual for the evening, we lost the jacket and added a pair of white converse.”
