DIY DIE CUT PLACE MATS + FREE TEMPLATE
I’m sure it comes as no surprise to you guys that we used our Cricut machines for so many of the details of Emily’s wedding, from the table plan, to our Palm Springs stickers on the top table, to the table names and even down to the place mats! That’s right we even DIYd the place mats at the wedding and we loved how they turned out! The main three colour that Em wanted to focus on was pink, peach and yellow and we knew that the tables were going to be covered with white tablecloths so one way to really add a pop of colour to them was with bright and colourful place mats!
Em knew she wanted something die cut with geometric and floral touches so once we knew the size of the plates it was time for me to start designing the mats! This process took a little time but we got there in the end and i’m so proud with how the design looked when they were cut out!
The best news is that we’re giving away the template for free today so that you can use them too! Simply download the design here, upload it to the Cricut Design Space and select the negative areas so the machine knows where to cut out. Then all that’s left to do is size the floral mat to however large or small you would like it, load your card into the machine and hit that go button!
We made 62 of these mats for Em’s wedding in those three different colours and then placed a white plate on top of them, followed by a colourful napkin with cutlery folded neatly inside. Then, finally everybody had their names cut out in white card and we finished the place setting by placing them on top of the napkins. Everything tied together so beautifully with the colour scheme and it was so nice to see it all come to life!
