THIS DIA DE LOS MUERTOS INSPIRED WEDDING IS A MUST SEE!
Dia De Los Muertos is just around the corner and to show our love of such a beautiful celebration we’re sharing what has to be one of our fave weddings of the year. Inspired by one our all time favourite films – Coco, gorgeous bride Kayla oozes all the Frida Kahlo vibes in her colourful floral crown, whilst the groom shows of his own individuality with his bright and bold sugar skull shirt. Enjoy!
“Our wedding inspiration came from two movies celebrating ‘Day of the dead’ – Disney’s coco which most are familiar with and a more unknown film called ‘Book of life’. We love both of these films and the culture so decided to incorporate them into our wedding. The whole theme is based on the idea that even in death we will be together and in love.” Kayla told us.
“Most of the decor was DIY. We collected much of the ‘Day of the Dead’ theme decor from mexico itself and used bright rainbow colors like the ones often used in Day of the Dead festivities,” she added.
“For my dress, I wanted something that suited my small frame and as I love lace I knew that had to be included to whilst my headpiece was inspired by the day of the dead theme we had going with the brightly colored flowers made into a crown.”
“It’s hard to choose just one favorite part of the day, walking down the aisle to see Rey’s smiling face and of course he was smiling all the way I walked to him. Everything was perfect! I know alot of people say that but it all went smoothly.”
“My advice for couples organising a wedding is to start planning early! I thought a year out was alot of time in advance but it sneaks up on you quick! Give yourself as much time as possible.”
