PINK VINTAGE FLEA MARKET STYLED BRIDAL SHOWER
This styled bridal shower through rose tinted glasses sounds like SO much fun!! A coral pink succulent cake, giant gold confetti balloon garland and a dessert bar to die for! What more could a gal want to celebrate her last days of being a single lady!
Originally inspired by the stark white industrial loft space of Maple and Moon Creative in Dover, NH, which is a studio space in an old mill building, floral stylist Michelle, had an idea! To create a vintage, flea-style, southwestern bridal shower including cactus and succulents, with earthy tones and cutesy vibes.
“We used a base of earthy tones with browns, whites and greens, an overall coral tone and then pops of jeweled colors and a hint of weathered gold. The photographer (who is only 18 years old!!) captured a rosey tinted and dusty colored effect through her lens which enhanced the atmosphere.” Michelle told us
“I designed a renaissance style floral arrangement in a terracotta pot to compliment the plants and cactus. I wanted it to be avant-garde with structure and an almost dry quality to it. We used vintage plate-ware mixed in with some Anthropologie and an authentic vintage plant stand (found at Flea for all in Portland, ME) to showcase the detailed cactus cupcakes. We also crafted up a funky cake stand to showcase the coral pink succulent cake,” added Michelle.
“The life size balloon garland brought in an air of festivity with the gold confetti balloons yet keeping it mature with the white. We kept it modern by not overly stating the decor and doing artistic stationery. It all came together because McKenzie (also the cake and dessert baker!!) and Claire are sisters so this was really special to them and a beautiful memory so they captured the essence and meaning of the shoot for us!! The girls were made even more gorgeous by the carefree and bohemian hair and makeup making them look effortlessly golden. The earrings were handmade by a local artist along with the pot by the chair and this added to the earthy and funky quality of decor. The burnt red set outfit (Mamacita) was handmade by a local clothing line, that’s just launched. So many great details that all came together to create an earthy, elevated and rosey tinted bridal shower editorial.”
