PINK & GIRLY VALENTINES DAY WEDDING IDEAS
Happy Valentines Day guys!! Whether your celebrating with your S.O, your best friends or going solo, we want to wish you all so much love!! The inspiration for todays shoot, as you’ve probably guessed is Valentine’s Day and all things pink and girly!
“I’d noticed a trend in make up on Instagram of red and pink being used together and it occurred to me that it was the perfect time of year to base a shoot around these two romantic colours,” began makeup artist Andrea.
“I mentioned my idea to my friends, colourful and relaxed wedding photographer Rachel Clarke and Pink campervan owner Kitty Orme and they took my idea and ran with it, approaching the most fabulous female wedding suppliers to get involved. We secured the most perfect venue – The Isla Gladstone in Liverpool. This Victorian conservatory is full of character and has the most amazing light. It also features a genuine Victorian bandstand and picturesque grounds – the perfect backdrop for wedding pictures,” she added.
“We had two female models to echo the all female team. The dresses were provided by Jacky of Sixpenny bride who specialises in vintage gowns. This gave the whole shoot a vintage feel and she accompanied the gowns with intricate vintage headpieces to add an extra element of romance. Hair was styled by Carol who created the most beautiful flowing waves on both girls and switched up styles later on to show how the gowns would look with hair up. I provided the make up and kept with the red/pink theme. I added fluttery lashes and lashings of blush to keep the girls looking fresh and feminine.” Andrea explained.
“Our perfect decor was provided by Amy of Sweetpea and Ivy who adorned our table setting with roses and candles with touches of gold. She also provided the bridal bouquet which was full of girly charm. This decor was accompanied by a beautiful flower wall and floral letters from Laura at Pretty Your Party. We had the wonderful Susan from Elizabethanna cake design on cake duties and she provided a stunning floral covered cake, cute valentines heart cookies and flower shaped cupcakes. Then we had Babs the pink caravan and a pink mini bar from the amazing Kitty at Birdie Photobooth! This really ramped up the retro feel and was the perfect quirky addition to take this shoot to another level in pink styling.” Andrea told us.
“I think this colour scheme would be a fabulous concept for real couples. It’s both cute and endearing and works so well with fresh roses. The make up looks are totally wearable for bridal. A red lip is a bridal classic and with the addition of pink blush and a flick eyeliner it is perfect for brides who love 1950’s feel. The romantic waves keep everything looking soft and sensual. The quirky add ons of pink campervan and mini bar are the perfect special touches for any wedding. They provide a talking point for guests and look great in photos. Using the bar to display the cake worked so well! Flower walls have been trending for some time now and show no signs of slowing down! Real couples could display one behind the top table to tie everything together. Even if it’s just to take the elements of red/pink and incorporate them into bridesmaid dresses or make up – this shoot provides inspo for all the hopeless romantics out there on Valentine’s Day or any time of year!”
