PRETTY JEWEL TONE FALL WEDDING IN DOWNTOWN COLUMBIA
Amanda and Zach got married on a crisp, bright November day amongst all their friends and family. Amanda’s dress had custom cap sleeves and beads sewn on that transformed her gown to fit her trendy, bohemian style and had cascading, jewel toned florals and bright details that complimented the fall coloured trees that littered downtown Columbia. Amanda and Zach had a first touch where they read letters to each other about how committed they were to always put their marriage first.
“Jewel tones was the colour palette we were going for,” began Amanda.
“We had deep greens, and blooms of red, pinks, and touches of purple. It was pretty boho!”
“For the ceremony, we stood on a cute little rug where we got married, and that same rug is now in our living room – so that’s super sweet to have. There were gold geometric accents and a wall of dangling string lights. The fan chairs from our sweetheart table were from our house whilst the signs were done by a sweet friend of mine (thanks Kendra!) and I made portions of the invitation and the ceremony programs myself.” Amanda told us.
“Our florist added draping and greenery to the pergola for the ceremony, and the reserved rows were lined with glass vases of pampas grass. For the reception, there was a hanging greenery ring over the dance floor, the tables were ivory linen with candle centrepieces and blooms dotted around to add colour throughout. I loved the florals from our day! I really splurged on my bouquet because I just loved the colours,” she added.
“We had a live wedding painter that painted the ceremony area beforehand, and added us, our wedding party and guests in during the ceremony. We ended up getting a card made of that picture and used it as our thank you note to send to all of our guests.”
“We decided that we didn’t want to do a first look but wanted to have a way to be alone with each other before all of the craziness so, we had a ‘first touch’. It was a sweet moment, hiding on opposite sides of the tree and reading letters we wrote to one another earlier in the day. His was way better than mine, I must say, but that moment was awesome.”
“We also took communion together during our ceremony to incorporate our Christian faith.”
“Don’t stress over the super little details! Yes, they can be great and look pretty, but it is not worth the stress when it’s all over. You will look back and realize what you were worried about was so minuscule to the huge love you have now!”
