JAPANESE GARDEN TEA PARTY WEDDING INSPIRATION WITH AN ALTERNATIVE PUNK TWIST
The initial inspiration for today’s Japanese punk, boho garden tea party inspiration came from The Couture Companies beautiful new Japanese inspired outfits and Lanwades Hall’s lovely outdoor Ceremony Gazebo called the Meadow Summerhouse.
Together these worked together to create a modern British afternoon tea vibe using our customary maximalist approach to florals and styling using summer brights with clashing reds and pinks.
The shoot was brought together by the two Jo’s: Jo from VV Raven Floral Design s and Jo from alternative bridal dress design outfit…The Couture Company.
Couture company Jo, had designed some wonderful Japanese inspired embroidered wedding outfits for her latest collection, incorporating and influenced by old Japanese prints and designs such as the Willow pattern designs including iconic Japanese illustrative subjects such as cherry blossom, lotus flowers, water lilies, carp and fish temples and tea houses. With a big mix of fabrics and textures, lots of draped tulles, crepes and chiffons, accented with Kimonos cut in silk organzas and embroidered with the beautiful Japanese inspired designs.
“The shoot took place at the beautiful Lanwades Hall in Cambridgeshire, a really stunning, historic Tudor style manor house in the heart of East Anglia. The focus was around their newly designed Pergola as well as the beautiful sunken walled wildflower garden. The stunning rooms and grounds make this a wonderful setting for a Country garden wedding,” said Jo, owner of The Couture Company.
“We really wanted the shoot to have a cool Japanese vibe, whilst also being pretty and boho but with a little punk twist. We recreated a Pergola wedding ceremony adorned in lanterns and a magnificent balloon sculpture accented with wonderful floral and stationary to start off with , and then we moved into the wild, walled sunken garden for a Japanese garden tea party.” Jo explained.
“The Colour palette we worked on were cherry blossom pinks, and oriental red mixed with a black lacquer and gold finish, plus there were a few accent colours to make the key colours pop. We loved the coral, oranges and teals that came out in the accessories, stationery and floral creations of colour using Dahlias, Globe Thistles, Gladioli, Roses, Amaranthus and Zinnias.”
