ROMANTIC PRAIRIE INSPIRED ELOPEMENT IN THE ENGLISH COUNTRYSIDE
Happy Friday! Today we wanted to share some super romantic wedding inspiration with you. The concept was to explore an “American Prairie” inspired wedding elopement – with an understated, soft, and natural look.
“We wanted to create visuals centred on the couple, with a strong focus on the intimacy of a small celebration, in contrast to the expanse of the landscape.” Began event planner, Valentina.
“Our intention was to modernise that vintage “prairie” look, with high collars, embellished gowns, and floral prints – and add a touch of wildness – in a very authentic way.”
“The colours were organic, muted, and down-to-earth, and we wanted that same ethos to reflect in the eco-friendly, sustainable work of the suppliers on the team. We want to inspire couples to pare things back to what really matters to them, and to style their spaces with intentional and meaningful details.” Valentina explained.
“For us, this photoshoot was a celebration of timelessness and of love that breaks all boundaries of time, space, and tradition.”
“It was a true joy to partner with Liz from Flower and Fern to design this concept, and she took our breath away with her delicate florals. She chose seasonal blooms grown on British flower farms, some from a nearby prairie garden, and some from her own cutting garden, as well as English garden roses to link back to the country house setting.”
“Ingredients such as cosmos, scabiosa and grasses were selected for their softness and the way they dance across the top of the arrangements and bridal bouquet. Inspired by meadow-like prairie style planting, which encourages flowers to self-seed and grow together, varieties and colours were grouped throughout the designs for a naturalistic effect. The colours reflect what was growing in the prairie garden at that time, further enhancing the affinity with nature.” Florist Liz told us.
“The film captures by John at Holes in The World are romantic, full of genuine emotion, and beautifully soft,” Valentina added.
“Much like the whispered vows of our runaway bride and groom.”
