THIS VIBRANT JOSHUA TREE STYLED ELOPEMENT SCREAMS FUN!
Today’s styled elopement is unique because of the setting + theme combination. It’s common for stylists who use the desert as their backdrop have a much more moody/earthy colour palette to blend with the colours often found in Joshua Tree. But todays team of creatives has a slightly different inspiration, and we LOVE it!!
“I am inspired by colour, there’s tons of it in my work!” began event designer & photographer Erin Marton.
“I wanted to bring the rainbow to the desert to combine an explosion of colour with the muted landscape. It was important to me to bring a completely different element and approach to a styled elopement in the desert and help inspire couples who love colour to consider making it a part of their elopements or intimate weddings in Joshua Tree! Just because it’s more common to find photographers with a moodier style working in the desert doesn’t mean it has to be the only way.” She told us.
“I also really wanted to have a celestial, sparkly element (with a hint of elegance) to this elopement inspiration. We worked with Katie Pritchard (from Katie Pritchard Designs) to add a starry cape and a sparkly jacket to the bride’s attire and partnered with Marrow Fine to add some jewels to the day. I knew I wanted this shoot to look classy with the couple in black and white, but I wanted this fun element of sparkle + colour all around. We got lucky having the moon join us during their “vows” even though it was still daylight!”
“When I initially had the idea for this shoot, I knew The LA Couple would be the perfect fit as our models. These two are so in love. They married in May 2018 and really are star-crossed lovers. He is from Brazil, and she is from them States. They met and fell in love in Los Angeles, and together they enjoy traveling and exploring their own city! They too embrace colour and such a sense of fun in their relationship, and they caught the vision right away.” Erin explained.
“I’m so grateful we worked with The Desert Lily/Love Love Joshua Tree as our venue. The view and property grounds could not have been more perfect – it’s truly a gem in the desert.” She added.
“This shoot stands out; it’s fun, colourful, and gives couples planning their elopement some really fresh ideas on an often-photographed location. So many people shoot in Joshua Tree, but I’ve never seen anything like this, and I am so excited my vision was brought to life!”

Absolutely loving the colours all the way through. Pastel, but oh so vibrant. And the quirky little prosecco tuk tuk. Why would anyone want to get married in a boring old hotel, when so much fun can be had.
