MAKE THIS DIY ABSTRACT DRINK QUOTE SIGN TO LET YOUR GUESTS KNOW HAPPY HOUR IS ONNN!
We’ve got the perfect drinks sign DIY for your reception today and we’re loving the abstract artsy wedding vibes it creates too! Adding signs to your wedding is not only helpful but also a great way to inject more personality into it! AND if you just so happen to be a big Beyonce fan then why not add Beyonce lyric stickers to your glasses? Or add some Bey themed photo props to the photo booth too! Ok, time to get drunk in love baby! Here’s how to make your own glass drinks sign…
YOU WILL NEED:
Acrylic paints // A paintbrush // A piece of glass/clear acrylic // A Cricut machine // Vinyl (in this case I chose gold) // Transfer tape // Cricut cutting mat //
STEP 1:
Start by painting your first colours onto the glass, I went with two different shades of deep pink/almost red first, you can do this in any pattern you want, after all it’s supposed to look abstract or you can just copy exactly what I did here! Fun fact, I actually used oil paints for this….10/10 don’t recommend, they took 12 days to dry haha stick with acrylics for this people!
STEP 2:
Next add in your next colour, here I went for a light pink
STEP 3:
Time to add in two more colours, I went with a mustard shade here and a white that eventually blended into a pastel pink the more I mixed it next to the other pink.
STEP 4:
Finally, add in your final colour of paint (in my case I went for teal) then leave it to dry (hopefully not for 12 days!)
STEP 5:
Once the paints are completely dry flip your glass over because we’re going to be working with the other side now where there are no brush marks or textured surface. It’s time to get that quote cut out! Now of course you can use whichever quote you like here, so you can either open the Cricut Design Space, find a font you like and type out your quote OR you can upload this exact quote to your design space by downloading the text here.
STEP 6:
When you’re ready with your quote we’re going to place our vinyl onto our Cricut cutting mat, load it into the machine and hit that go button!
STEP 7:
After you’ve watched the machine do it’s magic, take the quote out and remove the surplus vinyl leaving the quote behind.
STEP 8:
Use your transfer tape to take the quote from the page to your glass, being sure to rub down the quote onto the glass so it transfers easily once you remove the tape. Then you’re done!
We love how this one turned out, being huge fans of Beyonce ourselves! Don’t forget if you love Queen Bey as much as us then you can also grab a bunch of her famous lyrics to pop on glasses here in our shop, or even download some Beyonce themed photo booth props! Xx
