MEET THE COUPLE EMPOWERING TRANSGENDER RELATIONSHIPS EVERYWHERE!

Jamie recently started a YouTube channel where she courageously came out to the world as a trans-gender woman to create visibility and awareness, not only to have a voice for herself, but to make way for others to come out and live their authentic lives as well.

Phil had an idea to propose to Jamie in NYC on their anniversary in the Fall but that summer, when Phil and Jamie took a trip to Italy, Phil knew this was the moment. The couple journeyed from the Amalfi Coast to Positano through hairpin curves to a restaurant on top of the mountain overlooking the stunning views of Positano. Jamie was not expecting it at all and when Phil got down on one knee the two were overcome with emotion. Their journey together represented the roads that they had just driven – they had experienced many ups and downs but still came on top together. For both this was more than a proposal, “Girls like me don’t get to have this moment, so I’ll cherish that moment forever”, said Jamie.

Together, Jamie and Phil want to normalize transgender relationships and show the world that love is beyond physicality and is at a soul level.

Jamie is a self-professed hopeless romantic and thought she might meet the man of her dreams whilst randomly ordering Starbucks or taking a stroll through a garden, when in fact the couple met on Bumble. When they met, they both knew they wanted commitment and something real. They fit like puzzle pieces and their love blossomed naturally and quickly.

Being extravagant, opulent, and flamboyant person that Jamie is, her theme is, “Bohemian fairy princess, running through the woods who fell asleep in a bed of flowers and then woke up from this Spanish dream”. This theme can be confusing to most, but it captures who Jamie truly is. Jamie is creating a custom gown with Powder Bride and the designer is Lee Petra Grebenau. The theme overall is romantic, feminine, and dreamy. She wants the guests to feel like they are in an enchanted dreamy forest. Their wedding planner and decor designer that is going to bring this vision to life is Hooria Nekzai from Ria Designs.

Phil and Jamie want the wedding to be more than just a wedding celebration. It’s a celebration of the power of open hearts and open minds and what it can do to the world around you. Everything around you just seems a bit more magical and beautiful. This concept will be reflected in every single details of the wedding.

After following Jamie on social media, event planner Sauwmi was thrilled when she and Fox Photography had the opportunity to curate an engagement shoot for the newly engaged couple.

“Everything about the shoot was inspired by Jamie.” Sauwmi told us.

“She is a powerful trans-woman with an eye for style and everything beauty related. I have always been in awe of her style, confidence, and her authenticity. When I saw Jamie in a red dress, that she designed herself, both the photographer and I agreed that we just had to shoot Jamie in that dress and where better than in downtown Toronto.”

“Our vision was glam in the city. We chose the St. Lawerence neighbourhood to be the setting for the shoot, and it turns out this was Jamie & Phil’s neighbourhood as well. We included shots at their favourite dog park, the beautiful building across the street from their condo, and the iconic Gooderham Building.”

“Jamie recently chose to come out and share her story. It was incredibly moving for those that heard her story, and above all freeing for Jamie. For Jamie finding love and being accepted for who she is and having Phil seeing her for her, was powerful, and in this shoot their love was captured in places that were meaningful to them.” She explained.

“Whilst, for Fox Photography and I, this was our chance to bring glam to a bustling city and capture its beauty. For Jamie & Phil this shoot captured their unique romance. This was more than just an engagement shoot for Jamie. This was Jamie’s moment to be visible and to be seen for who she is. This was also to inspire other trans people to be visible, to come out with their own story, and not just to hope and dream, but see that someone will see them for who they are and that they will fall in love and get their happily ever after.”
