Bright Lights and Big Rides: How to Plan a Luna Park Wedding That’s Full of Colour and Fun!

When we creative duo Kelly (event designer) and Amanda (photographer) first laid eyes on Lady Finger Lounge – they knew they HAD to create something there. Whilst also workshopping a shoot featuring drag queens the two concepts came together, magic happened and an epic celebration was born!
“The Lady Finger Lounge has a one-of-a-kind ultra-femme high tea aesthetic featuring bubble gum pink furnishings, elegantly framed portraits of powerful women, and delicate, flower-filled tea sets.” Began Kelly and Amanda.
“In the design, we wanted to compliment the aesthetic of the space without overpowering it. To accomplish this, we curated a palette of light pastel colours that would pop against the colour story of the room and used them in bold shapes and textures. We provided this inspiration to the talent both in front and behind the camera and allowed them creative freedom to do what they do best and add to our celebration.”
“Our flawless talent, Briar Blush Mercy, Fran Colazzo and Jeb Howell, each brought their own personal style to the colour palette. Together they created magic and their fierce, fearless, and confident selves was why this shoot was so successful.” They told us.
“When putting this shoot together, we knew we wanted to work with inclusive, creative and collaborative vendors that would understand importance of the shoot and be just as excited about it as us. Since the venue has such a strong look, we just wanted to bring in some fun and playful details that the talent could work off. Lorinda from Sweet Talk Floral designed some of the most epic florals we have ever seen. The colours and shapes perfectly joined the bold + feminine style we were looking to add to the space and introduced some textures and shapes to the room that brought it to another level.”
“Speaking of another level, the balloon garland that Katie of Fig Balloon created had everyone’s jaws on the floor. She effortlessly took our inspiration behind the shoot and turned the fireplace into an Instagram worthy moment for any Queen (including almost every vendor on set LOL!). We also asked Oakleaf Cakes in Boston to create some custom cookies and cupcakes for us and boy did they deliver!”
