INTIMATE INDUSTRIAL LOVE FOR THE FREE SPIRITED COUPLES WHO HAVE DESERT WEDDING DREAMS
Today’s shoot caught our attention for that epic backdrop alone, those huge pops of burnt orange and yellow are so gorgeous for Autumn…Then we saw the rest of the details we were instantly in love! The stationery, the pink suit, the jewellery, the florals…we could go on and on, but better you see for yourself…
VISION
“Our vision for the shoot was industrial setting with a style reminiscent of Boho & encounters of different countries, cultures and colours” Valentina from Clementin Photo told us. “Over the last two years we have not been able to travel, we have only been able to do so with our imagination, and we wanted to give our free-spirited couples an alternative way of perceiving the atmosphere of the boundless spaces of the great American deserts, of imagining the sun setting behind the cacti in Mexico, of peeking into the old colonial houses because sometimes you just have to close your eyes, even if you are in the city.”
“If you’re a free-spirited couple looking for inspiration for your wedding, choose dry, colourful flowers to set the table, look for small succulents and use terracotta pots, which are perfect both on the table and at the ceremony venue. Choose handmade ceramic plates, the more irregular they are the more perfect they will be.”
“Choose natural fabrics such as organic cotton for the tablecloths and lots of silk chiffon if you want to give a precious touch to close the bouquet.
The paper used for the invitations is also important, perhaps made by an artisan. The palette is easy to replicate, close your eyes and think of the colours of the Earth, all shades of brown, orange, yellow and a few touches of cyclamen and burgundy.”
“The whole set-up, the location and the colours were chosen to create a different and modern setting that would appeal to young, fresh-minded couples looking for a little inspiration. An unconventional set-up that takes inspiration from different styles and mixes them perfectly to create a personal and unique style!”
INSPIRATION & STYLING
“A summer setting that brings to mind distant lands. The cacti on the table mingle with the elegance of light-coloured roses.
The white bricks give modernity to a building from the early 1900s which, with its huge windows, is the perfect location to celebrate two young people who certainly love living in the city, but without forgetting nature and the scent of flowers.”
“Different heights and lines populate the table. The vases echo the natural shapes of cacti, imitating their harmony. The tall candles are reminiscent of ears of corn and rose stems. The stationery has a hand-composed watercolour texture that echoes the palette and shapes of the backdrop. Watercoloured velvet and rich gold ink for the place cards. Gold tassels for the menus with velum delicately concealing the text. Warm and cheerful tones. Everything recalls the warm colours of the Earth. The backdrop has the colours of the sunset and the flowers enhance its uniqueness.”
LOCATION
“The Docks Dora complex is a construction from the beginning of the 20th century. The mercantile facility offered storage and warehousing services for goods – mainly foodstuffs. The general warehouses remained in operation throughout the early 20th century and for a couple of decades after World War II, falling into disuse in the 1960s.”
“Now disused for their original function, the Docks Dora soon came back to life in the following decades. Since the 1980s, the Docks have been home to a variety of activities ranging from commerce and services to artistic and cultural events and entertainment. Contemporary art galleries, private clubs, artists’ and musicians’ studios, rehearsal and recording studios, architecture studios, nightclubs, breweries and more are housed within the area of the old warehouses. A location that is certainly very characteristic for the history of the city of Turin, which always appreciates it in all its variety of activities and people who populate it.”
FASHION & BEAUTY
“The outfits chosen are a perfect mix of modernity and tradition. Two dresses were chosen for the bride: one in macramé lace, which lends elegance and brings to mind a reinterpretation of a classic dress from yesteryear; the other is more minimalist with a deep slit. It combines two precious fabrics such as silk cady and silk satin. The bride’s makeup is natural, as is her hairstyle, which has been done in such a way as to enhance her characteristic curly hair.”
“To complete the bride’s outfit, a wonderful brass headband, completely handmade with goldsmith’s techniques and a floral motif that gives brightness to the look and recalls the earth colours in palette with the whole setting. For him, a pink silk mikado suit. A groom who likes to stand out and who thinks outside the box. The suit is completed by a floral lining combined with a bow tie which gives a chic touch to the whole outfit.”
