A Dazzling Peaky Blinders Inspired Wedding Styled Shoot in Italy
This project was an exclusive Production for an inspiration wedding dedicated to the good old 30s. The chosen theme is inspired by the famous “Peaky Blinders” series (if you don’t know it – see more about it below): we wanted to create a unique Peaky Blinders inspired wedding styled shoot that would inspire all those couples who dream of losing themselves in a setting of the past and reliving those magical moments.
The Location
We chose an exceptional location, the “Officine del Volo” in Milan, with the famous facade used for the presentation of Masterchef Italia, perfectly in keeping with its industrial finishes and its brick walls to recreate the flavor of an English setting. It really looked like a scene of Peaky Blinders!

The Ballet
The costumes of the ballet company of the fabulous “Peekaboo” (a project conceived and produced by the “Voodoo Deluxe” of Milan) are by Sara Costantini, a well-known TV, and Theater costume designer.

The Fortune Teller and the Greyhounds
To recreate the atmosphere of the Birmingham Criminal Gang, we have included elements and figures typical of that period such as the fortune teller (given the gypsy origins of the protagonists), thus obtaining more sets and accessories for the various moments of the event.
A special touch was also the presence of a selection of Greyhounds that brings us back to the field of betting, one of the primary ways of livelihood of the gang of the time.

The Challenges of Producing a Peaky Blinders Inspired Wedding Styled shootIt was the most challenging production I ever had, mainly because of the huge number of suppliers present on the set. We were more than 50 people during the shooting of most scenes. Fortunately, I have a lot of knowledge in this field, and lots of good connections. Thanks to my friend Virgile from Voodoo deluxe, who brought his Corps de Ballet. There were also many tiny details such as the gypsy who reads in the cards and the greyhound dogs that bring us back to the world of clandestine betting. It was a wonderful challenge! |

About the Peaky Blinders
Peaky Blinders is an extremely popular British TV series, set in Birmingham, England. It follows a crime gang by the name of Peaky Blinders and takes place after the 1st World War. The crime drama is roughly based on a real gang that was operational in Birmingham during the 19th century.
Peaky Blinders quickly became iconic, and for many reasons. Starting with the charismatic actors, led Cillian Murphy, the brilliant script, the amazing scenery of the 30s, and the stylish cinematography. You get to see a riveting part of England and a piece of its history that has never really been showcased in such a manner.
