Falling IN Love: A Lovely Wedding Styled Shoot in Midtown Toronto

When we fall, gravity doesn’t exist, it sweeps us away like the colorful autumn leaves. It’s inevitable!
The Idea Behind The Styled Shoot
When you think of fall, what comes to mind is the leaves changing, the falling of leaves, and the harvest season of pumpkin, apples, and squash.
I loved that everyone from the team incorporated so many elements to this 1970s bohemian modern vibe with accents of copper, lace, and velvet.

The Food and beverage styling definitely gave a sense of all the warmth and colourful auburn hues of autumn, citrus, vanilla, and plums.
All things you would have or find during the fall season and pair with imported wines from Italy.

The Concept and Vendor Collaboration
Our vendor group is close friends and family members that work repeatedly together or refer to each other’s business. We start with a basic storyboard and each vendor has a voice and can contribute to the concept and theme behind the styled shoot.
It is so important that everyone has a voice. From the big stuff to the small fine detail matter.
Our work is incredibly hard to create a story or an expression of their art.
This shoot is personally special to me because my (2) younger sisters were a part of the shoot and it was great working alongside them for the first time. It’s one or the other lol.

The Wedding Grown
Doris’ wedding was very modern but gave a very laid back free spirit look.
Eclair Maxi Dress was a breathtaking gown that flows with every step. Designed with sheer white tulle speckled with 3D embroidered baby’s breath flowers, inset polka dot trims, an open back, a metal heart buckle closure, and a built-in panty, so 70’s!!!

The Venue
We chose this venue because it is a hidden gem, located in the urban street of the midtown area of the city of Toronto.
Love the hipster and vintage surrounding area. There have been tons of new local businesses developed. The Geary Avenue community really supports each other with pop up, flea markets, art shows and much more. I definitely call this place home or I guess the starting point where my business started to grow like many others.
The Cake
No wedding is complete without a wedding cake like Irina’s from Toronto Secret Recipe!
She has a great eye for drama with her cake designs. Her collaborative inspiration was to bring a warm and rusty fall vibe.
Cinnamon swiss meringue and apple sponge flavour and finished hints of copper/gold flakes.

Signature Jewelry
Callet Lariat is an amazing work of art, with captivating rainbow moonstone crystals, perfect for a deep v-neck gown. It can be created with different stone and chain options. It is also layered with Cali Choker.
A delightful, snow pea-cut moonstone drop is suspended from a chic 14K gold-filled satellite chain. Designed and handmade with love by Antonia at The Loved One! This also can be created with different stone and chain options.

Feature Signature Cocktail
We teamed up with our friends from Vanilla & Spice to create a signature cocktail; Cherry Bomb Smash a combination of Bourbon, vanilla, and a splash of an orange citrus cocktail.

The Food
As the weather gets a bit colder we wanted to incorporate the harvest of fruit and vegetables of the season. Grown and sourced from the lands and farm from the Marques Family Farm of Holland Marsh, Ontario, Canada.
The Soup – Thai Butternut Squash with smoked paprika oil, hint of chili flakes, and organic micro zesty.
The Salad – Whipped Italian Burrata, baby arugula, stone fruit, crumble maple pistachio, drizzled with blood orange vanilla vinaigrette.
