Vidisha & Elias’s White Wedding Shoot at San Francisco City Hall
Searching for some inspiration for your wedding? Check out this lovely story of Vidisha and Elia and their white wedding at San Francisco City Hall.
The Culinary Institute of America is one of the world’s most prestigious Culinary schools. Like many others, Vidisha and Elias too had come here hungry to learn and grow in the culinary industry, little did they know that they were going to find their other halves here.
Vidisha, a shy and timid girl from Punjab, India, new to this world, new to this country, and Elias, a simple, talented, and easygoing guy from California. How the universe would have it, we were in all the same kitchen classes, academic classes, and dorm buildings (Bride).
It all fell in line and their relationship started so organically and continues to be one that was and is adored by everyone! Right from the time they met, they completed and complimented each other. Their personalities although very different worked so harmoniously together.
“For us, the journey of two becoming one was not enough, we wanted to merge our families and cultures into one giant family!” (Bride)
3 weeks after graduating college, Elias popped the question on a beautiful hilltop at sunset.
“This was a day I’ll never forget, it was actually happening, everything I had ever dreamed of for the last couple of years.” (Bride).
When I found out two of my closest friends were finally getting married I couldn’t contain my excitement, it was absolutely unreal that it was finally time for these two beautiful souls to come together forever!
Elias and Vidisha now live in a cute little house in Napa, California, with the cutest little puppy Maxwell. They are both working professionals in the hospitality industry.
The White Wedding Shoot at San Francisco City Hall
For the shoot, we chose San Francisco city hall because I wanted all the focus to be on this beautiful couple, and what better way to do that than one of the country’s most gorgeous locations?
Strangely enough, there was no particular vibe we were going for, we went for minimalism. The only thing that the bride told me is she wanted to feel comfortable and confident and that’s exactly why I went for something really minimal and allowed their personalities to really shine.
The bride wore a gorgeous mermaid cut dress with a beautiful floral embroidered veil, she let her tresses down and had very minimal makeup on. The groom wore a stunning navy blue suit. Both donning their stunning wedding rings!
The primary focus that day was to capture their love, in its raw, pure, and genuine form.
We had no props, no backgrounds, no fancy lights, just this gorgeous couple engulfed in their little bubble of love!
This shoot had been in the works for a few months before we made it a reality, Vidisha and Elias were in the midst of planning an Indian ceremony in December, peak wedding season. Vidisha had once told me that she wanted to have a white wedding to incorporate Elias’s heritage into the ceremonies but couldn’t do so because of time constraints, this is when it struck me that we should definitely do this shoot so he forever would have the memory of his beautiful wife donned in white!.
Planning this shoot was incredibly stressful as we knew we did not have a large time frame to complete it, but we did not want to compromise on any aspects of it.
Shooting this couple was an absolute dream. I have known Vidisha and Elias right from the moment they met each other and I’ve been lucky enough to watch their love blossom and grow into what it is today.
I was extremely nervous before shooting as I have never shot something this special in my life, and all I wanted from it
Is to do their beautiful bond justice by capturing it in all its beauty.
Once we got to the location and started shooting, it was an absolute breeze as these two love birds were just being their goofy little selves and I got so engrossed in the process.
“To be able to find someone, who is your best friend and your other half in your partner is truly something magical.” (Bride)
To be able to witness the journey of two extremely talented chefs becoming one is magical, but to be able to capture this love on film to preserve it for generations to come is something words cannot describe!
When I printed out the photos and presented them to the couple on the morning of their Indian ceremony – their reaction was truly something else, I could relive that moment over and over again. The joy it brought them was something I’d never seen before.
“We were in awe of the photographs and how they exuded pure love!”. (Bride)
This shoot taught me that I love capturing people and I would love to capture many more beautiful couples (as cliche as it sounds). There truly isn’t anything as beautiful as love
And to be able to capture it and preserve it as a memory forever is just surreal.
