We Love This Viva Magenta Inspired Wedding Styled Shoot
This stunning wedding-styled shoot is a nod to the Pantone Color of the Year for 2023, “Viva Magenta” in four completely unique takes and wedding “scenes” incorporating this stunning & vibrant shade.
As we ring in the 2023 wedding season, so many of us feel compelled to celebrate life – little details, extra flourishes, and a burst of freshness and color – with truly bold and vibrant hues. As professional florists, we’re the biggest fans of bringing striking color and radiance back into our worlds – that’s a definite.
As humans, we’re all still just coming out of our proverbial shells post-pandemic, and many of us are desiring little (and big) pockets of joy and celebration more and more – honestly, it feels like we’re reaching for joy and celebration, the joy of truly feeling and being alive, everywhere we can reclaim it!
So it was no surprise to the Lead Designer for Just Bloom’d Weddings, Allison Hassard AIFD, CFD, and her marketing lead, Hannah, to find joy and celebration in the announcement of 2023’s Pantone Color of the Year “ Viva Magenta”. Surrounded by a brilliant team of wedding professionals, they inspired an elevated-styled shoot using Pantone’s 2023 Color of the Year to create bespoke, dramatic wedding scenes full of vibrancy, color, and celebration.
Inspired by the bold fuchsia-purple tone of 2023’s color, “Viva Magenta” and the many hues, striking bold contrast, and complimentary color palettes worked well with this gorgeous color, the team created some indelible magic together.
On a cold, snow-laden January day in 2023, set at the historic Dane Estate in Chestnut Hill, MA, Just Bloom’d Weddings designed 4 bespoke scenes, with 4 very unique takes on the effervescent, bold shade of “Viva Magenta.”
Each scene was tastefully done with its own setting and location in the wood-paneled halls, ballroom, and library room of the gorgeous estate.
Our models, an incredible content creator Vanessa and her fiance, Jason, are getting married in April of 2024 and it was an amazing opportunity for them to get a first-hand look at what goes into a wedding and meet some incredible and professional vendors who helped make the shoot come to life.
Step into a breathtaking scene one, adorned with a captivating fusion of soft and vibrant shades that exude an air of playfulness and romance. Our color palette masterfully combines a plethora of pinks ranging from the ethereal charm of muted blush, the sensual warmth of peach, the irresistible allure of hot pink (like the Pink Piano garden roses), all the way to the audacious confidence of bold viva magenta.
To enthrall the senses further, bursts of yellow mimosa and preserved ferns in vivacious orange create an enchanting contrast that elevates this dreamy display. Among the visual delights, a freestanding gilded gold frame embracing an asymmetrical floral spray accentuates the cascading medley of florals that envelops the chic pink couch with effortless grace.
The elegant scene is lovingly illuminated by gilded gold candelabras, their radiant light dancing softly on the matching hot pink candles. At the heart of it, all lies the mesmerizing focal arrangement: a cascading bouquet adorned with resplendent double tulips and gloriosa lilies whose natural yellow centers ignite an irresistible spark of passion and joy.
Scene two reflects a more earthy-bohemian jewel-tone vision. This enchanting wedding scene is inspired by the depths of bohemian flair, where vivid jewel-toned florals come together to create this captivating mantle arrangement. This assembly is a symphony of diverse textures, featuring teal fan palms, lush shades of blues and purples, and harmonious pops of bright and deep orange, intertwined with rich burgundy hanging amaranthus.
The mantle artfully blends the 2023 Pantone color of the year, Viva Magenta, as seen in the stunning dendrobium seamlessly into the effervescent mix of vibrant emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and garnet tones. Poetic asymmetry breathes life into this statement-making cascade, embracing an ethereal aura that enchants and translates to the coordinating side-cascading bouquet.
Gold lanterns cast a warm, inviting glow, while the minimalist shelf of gold votives nestled within the fireplace adds the perfect touch of luxurious ambiance. And to complete this mesmerizing look, custom-made floral hoop earrings were intricately crafted from the delicate and fragrant purple hyacinth and alluring peach berries, and adorn the ears of the bride. This stunning, bohemian-inspired look is sure to leave an indelible mark on the hearts and memories of all who witness the magic.
Next, you’re transported to an ethereal realm where elegance and romance collide. This is where one of our favorite classic vision board concepts comes to life with a modern-romantic twist. Welcome to Scene three, showcasing a stunningly timeless Chinoise-inspired cake display that juxtaposes soft pink hues with a pop of bold viva magenta in the form of striking Astro Nova – a *brand new* floral as of 2022 (cultivated from the alstreomeria family) – and other monochromatic florals like petite asters, calla lilies and snap dragons adorning the exquisite tablescape.
The floral cake masterpiece, a custom creation by Kaly’s Cakes and Bakes, bears the delicate touch of artistry as hand-frosted and hand-stenciled designs emulate the beauty of real Chinoise pottery, accentuated by the enchanting frosted florets and floral flourishes. Draped gracefully over the display, the dreamy silk sash mesmerizes with its gentle ivory tone.
The tablescape itself flaunts the gorgeous cake on a gold bar cart, a stunning display table, and an array of intricate handmade Chinoise pottery, paired with Magenta place cards by Serif & Sans – the scene paying homage to traditional Chinese depictions of Peony, Peach Blossom, and Chrysanthemum florals set in a rich blue ink. In Scene Three, the blend of classic and contemporary whispers a romantic tale, where the magic of Chinoise artistry meets the allure of the modern world.
The fourth and final look: imagine walking into a stunning wedding reception and being instantly captivated by the sumptuously dark ambiance of the long tablescape in a beautiful, towering wood-paneled ballroom with lavish pink lighting.
The harmonious blend of high and low centerpieces creates a visual symphony that captures the essence of desire, love, and passion. Stunning “Viva Magenta” cymbidium orchids and burgundy hydrangea are delicately woven into the mix of dark, berry-toned flowers, where Schwartzwalder black calla lilies spill out gracefully, exposing dark eucalyptus nuts and ripe pomegranates freshly burst open – all creating an enchanting and mysterious atmosphere.
The flowing mix of high and low candles and monet candle stems peeking from the centerpieces cast their warm glow onto trays generously overflowing with the seductive colors and textures of delicious, ripe berries and luscious fruits. Amidst this lavish scene, a beautifully hand-crafted custom cake (again by Kaly’s Cakes and Bakes) captivates your attention, shimmering with moody elegance and hand-crafted flowers. This dark and moody wedding tablescape arrangement is a feast of sensory delights that tantalize the eye, evoke deep emotions, and ensure a night of unforgettable romance and alluring drama.
Mr. G’s Suits provided the Ike Behar double-breasted tuxedo and patent leather loafers evoking a clean, refined look, as well as the viva magenta-inspired floral bowtie to complete Jason’s chic groom aesthetic.
