A Rustic Pastel-Inspired Styled Shoot at The Outbarn in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire
In the lush Ribble Valley, The Outbarn Wedding Barn offered a canvas of rustic charm for a styled shoot that broke the mould. Jo from The Alternative Florist envisioned a scene where the flowers, both felt and fresh, were the stars, adding vibrant pops of colour to the pastoral setting. Milliebuds provided an array of fresh flowers that complemented the felt creations, enhancing the natural beauty of the venue. Meadow Cottage Events complemented this vision with understated elegance, setting the tables and ceremony space with a simplicity that spoke volumes.
The day was filled with fun, thanks to the alpacas from Woodend Alpacas, who, as ring bearers, brought a unique twist to the ceremony. The rings, provided by Devotion Jewellery, added a touch of traditional glamour to the unconventional setting.
A Harmonious Collaboration
The shoot was the fruit of a collaboration among Lancashire’s finest wedding suppliers, all connected through The Wedding Business Hub. The atmosphere was one of relaxed creativity, a vibe that was captured perfectly by photographers Lynette Matthews and Edyta Guzik Bathgate. Louise and Hayden, a real couple, brought an authentic warmth to the shoot, their comfort with each other translating into beautiful, natural photographs.
Hayden’s attire from Bridgewater Menswear, featuring a light suit and knitted tie, struck the perfect balance between rustic and refined. Louise dazzled in a ‘Cosmos’ Sophie Rose gown provided by Willow and Wilde Bridal, which whispered elegance with its slipper satin and bobby tulle, flutter sleeves, and a scooped back with button detailing. Hannah Rogers Bridal and Beauty created a look of soft glam for Louise, with a boho hairstyle adorned with felt flowers that mirrored her bouquet.
Sweet Confections and Sustainable Choices
Margaret from Rosehill Cakes showcased cakes from her Signature range, designed for intimate weddings but crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail. The decorations were kept simple, with sugar flowers set against textured ganache or fondant, echoing the barn’s rustic aesthetic.
The shoot redefined ‘alternative’ with sustainable choices like a handmade felt floral bouquet from The Alternative Florist, offering a keepsake that lasts beyond the wedding day. New Cards on the Block provided bespoke, hand-drawn stationery that tied the theme together, while Pantaloons confetti added a sprinkle of eco-friendly fun with their biodegradable confetti.
This styled shoot was a celebration of love, creativity, and sustainability, proving that weddings can be both beautiful and environmentally conscious. The result was a day of enchantment, where tradition met innovation in the most magical way.
