MAKE THESE FUN DONUT SOAP FAVOURS!
Happy Sunday guys! If you’re looking for a quick and fun weekend DIY then I have just the tutorial for you! Why not have a go at making these awesome donut soaps?! They almost look good enough to eat am I right?! These would make awesome favours or even cute little gifts for your bridesmaids! Here’s what to do if you’d like to make your own…
YOU WILL NEED:
700g glycerine Melt & Pour soap // Brown soap colouring // Pink soap colouring //Strawberry fragrance soap oil // Sprinkles // Donut Moulds // (makes 6 donuts)
STEP 1:
The first thing you need to do is cut up 440g of your soap into small cubes then microwave it in 10 second blasts until it’s melted.
STEP 2:
Once you’ve done that you can add in your scents! We used 4ml of strawberry fragrance for ours but you can add as much or as little as you like depending on how strong you want them to smell!
STEP 3:
Next add in your brown colouring to the mixture, do this bit by bit until you’re happy with the base colour of your donuts!
STEP 4:
Pour the mixture into your moulds then pop them in the fridge for 10 minutes. You’ll also need to make sure there’s a little bit of the this mixture left over before we’re going to use it to stick the two donut sides together.
STEP 5:
Once they’re set, take them out of the fridge and pop them out of their moulds.
STEP 6:
With your left over mixture, start to spoon it on each inside section of the donuts and glue two sides together. Repeat until all of your donuts are whole then put them aside for a few minutes to set.
STEP 7:
Next we’re going to make our pink frosting! So take your remaining soap and repeat steps 1, 2 & 3 but add your pink colouring instead.
STEP 8:
Now the fun part! Take your donut soaps and dunk them into the pink mixture! Allow to dry, then give them a double dunk if you want more of an intense colour! Immediately add your sprinkles on the second dunk so the soap sets with them stuck on. Just a little tip…Make sure to stir the mixture in-between each dunk to stop a film from forming on the top of your donut.
Then that’s it! You’re done! HOW CUTE ARE THEY?!?!! I almost don’t want to use them because they look too pretty! xx
Why We Love Donut Soap Favors
Donut soap favors are a delightful and whimsical addition to any wedding, adding a sweet touch without the calories! At a recent wedding I attended, these charming little creations were a hit among guests. Imagine the joy on everyone’s faces as they discovered these adorable, donut-shaped soaps in their favor bags. They were almost too cute to use—almost.
The beauty of donut soap favors lies in their ability to merge practicality with fun. Unlike traditional favors that might collect dust or be forgotten, these soaps are both useful and memorable. Crafted in vibrant colors and realistic designs, they look good enough to eat, making them an instant conversation starter. They’re a fantastic way to incorporate a playful, unique element into your wedding theme, whether it’s rustic, modern, or whimsical.
In my experience, the couple had chosen donut soaps in a variety of scents, from vanilla bean to strawberry glaze. This not only added a sensory delight but also allowed guests to pick their favorite “flavor.” The soaps were made with natural ingredients, ensuring they were gentle on the skin, a thoughtful touch appreciated by all.
Symbolically, donuts represent unity and happiness, echoing the wedding’s celebration of love and togetherness. Donut soap favors are a sweet, fun, and practical gift that guests will remember fondly—and actually use!
These are adorable! I made similar bath bombs but found the color from my sprinkles bled into the “icing” over time, making them significantly less cute. Did you have any issues with colors bleeding? Maybe I just need to try different sprinkles.. Any tips you have would be appreciated. Thanks!
