“Mollie and Becky are two vibrant fun-loving people and their colorful wedding was a perfect representation of their personalities. They chose to get ready together, but not see each other once they were dressed so that they could still have a first look.
Becky wore the gorgeous Zuri African Print Maxi Infiniti Dress with epaulettes made of real flowers. Mollie wore pants in a matching print and a floral bow tie also made of real flowers. In addition to their floral wearables, we photographed their unique jewelry including an ear cuff, their invitation that matched the Zuri African Print, and the ribbons that they would later use for their hand-fasting ceremony.

A Ceremony of Community and Connection
Their ceremony and reception were held at Lenny Boy Brewing Co. in Charlotte NC. They chose to do a ceremony in the round so that there was no “front” and they would be surrounded 360 degrees by their family and friends.
They said, “Our collaborative thought was we are all a community and the ceremony represents that as does our entire lives.” Then, various guests were selected to place a ribbon atop their hands during the handfasting portion of the ceremony, which was officiated by Mollie’s sister.

Colorful Portraits and a Fun-Filled Reception
We snuck away after the ceremony to take some colorful couple’s portraits along the Rail Trail in Charlotte and then returned back to Lenny Boy for the reception which included a taco buffet! They also had other fun touches like a popsicle cart for dessert (instead of cake), multiple game tables (in case you didn’t want to dance), and a Jenga “guestbook” where guests could write on the Jenga pieces.”
