Amber & Jorge’s Rustic Lodge Wedding
If you’ve been reading Bespoke Bride for a while you’ll know that last year Me & Emily took a trip to California and while we were over there we did a photo-shoot with the fabulous Deborah Lindquist and photographer Mariel Hannah! I was lucky enough to wear one of Deborah’s dresses but I wouldn’t have looked presentable without the lovely Amber who did my hair and makeup! Fast forward a year and a half and Amber is married to the lovely Jorge! We are so happy to share this rustic wedding with you and wish Amber & Jorge all of the happiness in the world! I’ll hand you over to Amber so she can tell you all about their special day…
“We got married at The Lodge at Painted Rock because of the beautiful scenery and lovely rustic feel! I wanted my wedding to be unique so I chose to customize as much as possible, all though I was crazy at the time I made a lot of the little and big details myself from the flower girl dresses to my shoes and even the Mr. And Mrs. Signs. The hard work paid off and it was everything I wanted.”
“My wonderful photographer was my dear friend and very talented Mariel Hannah photography. She has a unique way of viewing this beautiful world and turns it in to a fairy tale! I chose her knowing she had the unique view and skills to make it amazing.”
“My bridesmaids purchased their dresses from lady’s and gent bridal in bakerfield California where I also purchased my gown and veil, my dress was a Maggie sottero! My husband rented his tux from Fino’s in Bakersfield as well as his grooms men’s”
“The advice I would give to future brides is just enjoy the planning and try to take in every moment because everything up to the wedding will be wonderful and turn out to be your own fairy tale just like mine was.”
It looked like such a beautiful day and we’re so glad that Amber & Jorge enjoyed and cherished every moment of it! We’ve got so much love for you both!

Why We Love Lodge Weddings
Who doesn’t LOVE the cozy, rustic, and utterly enchanting choice for tying the knot? Look at the stunning pictures above and imagine yourself saying “I do” surrounded by towering trees, crackling fireplaces, and the serene beauty of nature. If that doesn’t sound like a fairy tale, I don’t know what does.
First off, let’s talk atmosphere. Lodge weddings offer a unique blend of elegance and comfort. There’s something magical about the warm glow of a fire, the earthy scent of wood, and the panoramic views of the great outdoors. It’s like being in your own personal storybook. When my friend got married at a lodge in Colorado, the ambiance was so captivating it felt like we were all part of an epic love story.
Lodge weddings are perfect for any season. Picture a winter wonderland wedding with snow-capped trees, hot cocoa, and cozy blankets. Or imagine a summer wedding with wildflowers in full bloom and a gentle breeze rustling the leaves. Whether it’s spring, summer, fall, or winter, a lodge can provide a breathtaking backdrop. My cousin’s autumn lodge wedding was unforgettable—the vibrant foliage was like something out of a painting.
One of the biggest perks of a lodge wedding is the intimacy. Lodges are often nestled in secluded locations, offering a private retreat for you and your guests. It’s the perfect setting for a weekend getaway, where everyone can relax, unwind, and truly celebrate your love. At a lodge wedding I attended in Vermont, guests stayed in charming cabins, turning the celebration into a mini-vacation.
Now, let’s discuss versatility. Lodges can accommodate a variety of wedding styles, from rustic chic to elegant and sophisticated. You can decorate with twinkling fairy lights, rustic wood accents, or lush greenery to create your dream wedding aesthetic. I’ve seen lodges transformed into bohemian havens, vintage wonderlands, and classic fairytale settings—all stunning in their own right.
But, of course, there are a few considerations. Lodges are often in remote locations, which can make logistics a bit tricky. Be prepared for some travel planning and possibly limited cell service. But hey, a little escape from the digital world can be a blessing in disguise, right?
Lodge weddings also come with a wonderful sense of adventure. They invite you to embrace the great outdoors, whether that means hiking, fishing, or simply stargazing. It’s a celebration of love and nature, reminding us of the beauty and simplicity of life’s greatest moments. At a lodge wedding in the Pacific Northwest, guests spent the morning kayaking before the ceremony—it was the perfect blend of adventure and romance.
In essence, lodge weddings offer a unique, intimate, and versatile setting for your big day. They bring together the best of nature and comfort, creating an unforgettable experience for you and your guests. So, if you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s both magical and meaningful, consider the charm of a lodge wedding. It’s a choice that promises to leave you with beautiful memories and a deep appreciation for the wonders of nature and love.
Much Bespoke Love ♥
