Carry On Camping – Olivia & Steve’s Engagement Shoot
It’s not often we feature engagement shoots but when we find one as fun as Olivia and Steve’s we feel it is our duty to share it with you. This couple certainly know how to make it personal as this photoshoot is a true reflection of their personalities and lives together. Here is what Olivia had to say about the shoot.
“Steve and I are at our happiest when we are out and about travelling the UK and Europe in our VW bus. We love the freedom of being able to move around wherever and whenever we want! We wanted to share that love with our guests so decided to recreate a cool laid back retro vw festival feel for our shoot, as we felt that would come naturally to us. We are so pleased with the results for our engagement shoot, and we are now very excited about seeing our wedding photos next!!”
And so are we Olivia, we know its going to be just as if not even better. Good luck with your big day!
Much Bespoke Love

Why a Camping Engagement Is a Great Idea for Couples
Imaging yourself and your partner, surrounded by nature, stars twinkling overhead, and a cozy campfire crackling nearby. If you’re craving an engagement that’s as unique and memorable as your love story, a camping engagement might be just the ticket.
There’s something inherently romantic about the great outdoors. The tranquility of nature, the chorus of crickets, and the scent of pine all create a magical backdrop. Picture popping the question with a stunning mountain view or a serene lake as your witness. It’s like stepping into a fairy tale, but without the scripted lines and predictable plot twists.
When my best friend got engaged during a camping trip, it was an experience straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel. The look on her face as her fiancé proposed at sunrise, with mist rising off the lake, was pure magic. The simplicity and raw beauty of the setting made the moment all the more poignant.
Planning a camping engagement is also wonderfully flexible. Whether you prefer a secluded spot deep in the woods or a more social setting at a campground, you can tailor the experience to fit your style. And let’s not forget the practical benefits—no need to book an expensive venue or worry about a strict schedule. You can set up camp, relax, and let the day unfold naturally.
Of course, nature can be unpredictable. A sudden rainstorm or unexpected wildlife encounter might throw a wrench in your plans. But these surprises often become the best stories. Like the time a curious raccoon crashed my friend’s campfire proposal—turning a sweet moment into a hilarious memory we still laugh about.
In essence, a camping engagement offers a blend of romance, adventure, and intimacy. It’s a chance to connect deeply, away from the distractions of daily life. The great outdoors serves as both a stunning backdrop and a symbol of your journey together—wild, unpredictable, and breathtakingly beautiful. So, if you’re ready to embark on a lifelong adventure with your partner, why not start with a camping trip? It’s an engagement that promises not just a moment, but a memory that will last a lifetime.
