Ezra & Capri’s Tropical Beach Wedding Ceremony at Waimanalo Bay in Honolulu, Hawaii
We LOVE tropical beach weddings, and Ezra and Capri’s wedding just WOW’d our entire team, so we talked to Kristen from Kristen Campbell Photography, to learn more about this wedding. Kristen in turn, talked to the bride and got us this wonderful interview…
Q: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day?
“I always wanted to get married on the beach in Hawaii.”, said Capri. “It has been my dream since I was a little kid. My brother was married on the beach in Kauai, and I knew I wanted something similar. My color palette was orange, yellow, and pink, but most everyone wore pink (which is my favorite color). We did hawaiian leis which idk if that is a hawaiian tradition or not. “
Q: Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception?
“We set up an aisle with artificial flowers from amazon. We just stuck them in the sand. The dinner afterwards we covered our tables in white table cloths and a table runner that was orange and yellow with hawaiian flowers.”
Q: What were the florals like in your wedding?
“We had a bouqet which I carried walking down the aisle and it was very pretty. We also had the artificial flowers for the aisle. The flower aisle was an important part of my style and wedding. I found the inspo off of Pinterest. We did pink and yellow roses, which some orange flowers to match our colors.”
Q: Did you personalize the day in any way? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
“My favorite part of my wedding was the ceremony, specifically the vows. We had someone play the ukulele while I walked down the aisle and after we kissed.”
Q: Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look?
“I looked a lot on Pinterest and found my inspo there. But my dress was unlike any of my inspo that I found. I just searched “beach wedding dress”, but I went into a bridal shop and tried on my dress and knew it was the one. For my husband I looked up beach wedding mens outfit on pinterest. He wanted to wear white and I loved that idea.”
Q: How did you meet?
“One of my best friends is one of my husband’s best friends younger sister. I have known her since I was in elementary school. Her older brother and my husband served an LDS mission in Argentina and were mission companions, and became best friends after. We met through a mutual hangout with all of us, and Ezra wanted to ask me out. He DMed me on instagram. lol.”
Q: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
“The most special moment was hearing Ezra’s vows. I loved hearing what he wrote and was honestly surprised at how well he wrote them. I also loved seeing the aisle and walking down with everyone there. It was so fun.”
Q: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
“My advise would be TRY NOT TO STRESS! Your ceremony goes by so quickly and its over in a flash. I wish I didn’t stress so much, especially about all of the little details. Your wedding day will be the most special day no matter what! Just be happy to be marrying the person you love and try not to get too overwhelmed.”
