A Rustic Country Wedding In Their Own Family Barn – Angie & Garrett
There’s something so special about having a wedding so close to home, especially when it’s in your own family barn, which is exactly what Angie & Garrett did. In just 6 months they managed to turn the barn into the rustic country wedding venue they had always dreamed of…
“Garrett and I met in 2008 at a mutual friends 4th of July party. Come to find out later our paths had actually crossed many times before that. We hit it off right away and were pretty much in inseparable from then on out. In March of 2012 Garrett proposed at sunset on the beach at Seascape resort in Aptos Ca. He had placed a message in a bottle for me to find on the beach. I was completely caught off guard and when I realised the note was for me , there he was standing with the ring!
After telling our friends and family the great news, we started planning. We decided we wanted to have our wedding reception at the family barn in October of that same year. Which left us about 6 months to prepare. It was a whole lot of work, but with the help of our parents, family and friends, we were able to turn the barn into our dream wedding site!
Before we knew it the day had arrived. The weather was perfect and the day ran smoothly. We were married at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Tracy and the reception was held at the Stroup Family Barn immediately after. I loved every minute of our special day, and our photos captured all of those precious moments. I wouldn’t have changed a thing about our rustic country wedding. Everyone told us they had just as great of a time as we did, which was the most important thing to us. After the wedding we honeymooned in St. Lucia for 10 days and returned home to Tracy to begin our lives as man and wife. We are now expecting our first child, a baby girl! We cant wait to begin this new chapter of our lives and making lots of new memories!”

Why I Love Rustic Country Weddings
There’s something timeless and enchanting about a Rustic Country Wedding that truly speaks to my soul. Just take a look at the stunning photos above, and imagine yourself in a serene countryside setting, weathered barns, lush meadows, and the scent of wildflowers in the air. A Rustic Country Wedding perfectly blends simplicity with elegance, creating an intimate and warm atmosphere that leaves lasting impressions on everyone.
One of the reasons I adore Rustic Country Weddings is their effortless charm. These weddings embrace natural beauty, with wooden accents, burlap, lace, and mason jars adding a quaint yet sophisticated touch. I remember attending a Rustic Country Wedding where the bride walked down an aisle lined with hay bales, under an arch of intertwined branches and flowers. It was like stepping into a dreamy, pastoral painting.
Rustic Country Weddings also offer incredible versatility. You can host your celebration in a barn, under a canopy of trees, or beside a tranquil lake. Each setting provides a unique backdrop that adds to the wedding’s overall charm. The relaxed vibe of a Rustic Country Wedding allows for personal touches, from homemade pies on the dessert table to a live folk band playing under the stars. It’s all about creating a day that feels authentically you.
Moreover, the symbolism behind a Rustic Country Wedding is profoundly heartwarming. It represents a return to roots, valuing tradition, and cherishing simple pleasures. This aligns perfectly with my worldview of finding beauty in the unpretentious and genuine aspects of life.
In my experience, guests at a Rustic Country Wedding feel more connected and relaxed. The informal setting encourages everyone to let their hair down and truly enjoy the celebration. Whether it’s dancing on the barn floor or sharing stories around a fire pit, the memories made at a Rustic Country Wedding are often the most cherished.
In conclusion, the allure of a Rustic Country Wedding lies in its simplicity, versatility, and heartfelt symbolism. It’s a celebration that strips away the unnecessary and focuses on what truly matters: love, family, and the beauty of the natural world. If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels cozy, authentic, and utterly enchanting, a Rustic Country Wedding might be your perfect match.
