Wednesday Wedding Inspiration: Haunting Halloween
Yes ladies and gents it’s that time of year when things are starting to get a little spooky! The evenings are drawing in, the moon is almost full and pumpkins are being purchased all over the place!
This season had us wondering how fun it would be to have a Halloween filled wedding?! We don’t mean your tacky plastic blats stuck on the walls or your guests filling the room covered in face paint & masks!
We were thinking vintage horror films as table names, magic potions as favours, Pumpkin centre pieces and black gothic birdcages! It could be beautifully haunting…
All of the images used in the inspiration board can be found here.
We love the glow balls hanging in the white stockings! How creative!
Happy Haunting…
Tips for Planning a Halloween Wedding
Planning a Halloween wedding is an exciting opportunity to break away from the traditional and embrace something thrilling, dramatic, and even a little spooky. Whether you’re looking to create an atmosphere of gothic romance or inject a playful, festive vibe, there are endless possibilities to make your day both magical and memorable.
1. Pick a Theme That Matches Your Style
The great thing about a Halloween wedding is that it can be as spooky or as subtle as you like. Not everyone wants a full-on haunted house vibe, so think about what elements of Halloween resonate with you. Maybe you’re drawn to the dark elegance of a gothic theme with black lace, candles, and rich reds. Or perhaps you’re leaning towards a whimsical, pumpkin-filled affair with light-hearted touches like costumes and candy buffets. The key is finding the balance that makes your Halloween wedding feel personal and unique.
2. Embrace Seasonal Décor
The beauty of a Halloween wedding is that you can easily incorporate autumn’s natural elements into your décor. Think of pumpkins, fallen leaves, and candles to set the mood. Adding moody floral arrangements with dark blooms like black dahlias, deep burgundy roses, and a touch of greenery will elevate your tablescapes. Don’t forget about the lighting—it can make or break the ambiance. Fairy lights, chandeliers, and lanterns can bring that perfect glow, making your venue feel enchanted. If you really want to lean into the spooky side, you could add some fog machines or dramatic lighting to create an eerie but beautiful setting.
3. Play with Fashion
A Halloween wedding opens up so many possibilities for your bridal look. If you’re feeling bold, consider a non-traditional gown in black, deep red, or even a mix of both. You could also choose a dramatic veil, like one adorned with lace spider webs, or add gothic touches to your accessories. The groom and wedding party could embrace darker colours, and your guests might even enjoy the idea of a costume dress code. It’s Halloween, after all—why not let people get creative?
4. Have Fun with the Menu
From pumpkin-spiced treats to signature cocktails like a “Witches’ Brew,” your Halloween wedding menu can be just as festive as the décor. You could also add a candy bar filled with classic Halloween sweets for a fun touch that guests will love.
5. Send Guests Off with Spooky Favours
Unique wedding favours are the perfect way to cap off your Halloween wedding. Think mini pumpkins, caramel apples, or custom candles with spooky designs. Small touches like this will leave a lasting impression long after your wedding is over.
In the end, a Halloween wedding is all about letting your personality shine through while creating an experience your guests won’t forget!
Much Spooky Bespoke Love!
