HOLD ON TO SUMMER WITH THIS TROPICAL BOHEMIAN BEACH HOUSE LOOK!
Can you believe it is the end of November already? Christmas is just around the corner but today we are doing our best to hold on to those days of summer, with this tropical bohemian beach house inspiration.
“We were after an intimate elopement, something colourful and slightly different from the soft, romantic tones you see so much of” Photographer Frances told us. “Tropical seemed to fit the bill and our styles well, so we aimed for a tropical bohemian theme, which Andri styled beautifully – an elegant colour palette of corals gold and green, with a splash of vibrant orange to really bring out the feel of the tropics.”
“We loved the contrast of the dark natural wood against the vibrant oranges and reds, and brought in tropical elements with palm fronds, birds of paradise, Latin American fruit (bought from the markets) and a pink flamingo!”
“We made our mini table settings using spray painted palm leaves, if wanted to recreate this look you could get your florist to supply you with foliage (or de-leaf your own garden plants) and spray them with artist’s spray paint like this one, in two or three of your chosen colours.”
“A cocktail trolley was an absolute must – there’s no fun without a good mixer or a bride’s signature cocktail: we had mint laden mojitos and Pink champagne with pomegranate seeds and rose petals, which nicely balanced our colour palette too! For a mocktail version, try Bottlegreen’s sparkling Pomegranate and Elderflower pressé and you can order edible flowers from Maddocks Farm Organics or ask your florist.”
Frances was lucky enough to shoot Severndroog Castle’s first ever wedding, and its hidden, intimate setting just fitted the bill perfectly for this secret elopement. “A small winding folly atop a hill in South London, you’d never know it was there – nor guess you were in London. The views from the tower are breathtaking – and having built as remembrance for a lost love, there wasn’t a more fitting venue” Frances continued.
“Naomi Neoh’s dress was an elegant, floaty fit, bringing fun and floral lace to the shoot; a second dress by Saja (at Rock the Frock) gave us our boho feel which suited the relaxed woods surrounding the castle and finished off beautifully with the asymmetric floral crown. Chloe’s hair and makeup was styled for both looks by the super talented Amanda Roberts, and her shoes are pairs of limited edition shoes from the glittery collection designed by Love Art Wear Art (who also helped style our shoot)”
“We loved the shape of the natural stoneware plates, gold cutlery and the cut glass from Classic Crockery and Pepper and Joy’s Tropical Jungle stationery was a joyous find. Our bar trolley and glasses are all vintage finds of our own – though we’d recommend Re for the green milk glass pitcher and cake stand and Eagle Eyed Bride for the straws.”

Tips for Planning a Beach House Inspiration Shoot
Planning a beach house inspiration bridal shoot is all about capturing the essence of coastal charm, relaxed elegance, and natural beauty. From the windswept dunes to the soft hues of the ocean, a beach house backdrop offers an unforgettable setting that speaks to carefree romance. Here’s how to plan an inspiring shoot that radiates effortless beachy vibes.
Start by selecting a beach house with character – think whitewashed walls, driftwood accents, and expansive views of the sea. A house with a wraparound deck or large windows will allow for plenty of natural light, which is essential for an airy, ethereal feel. Ideally, the shoot should take place during the golden hours of early morning or late afternoon, when the light is soft and glowing. This timing enhances the warmth of the surroundings and brings out the subtle colors of the sand, sea, and sky.
When it comes to styling the bride, focus on a look that feels at home with the relaxed beach house inspiration. A flowing gown with soft, billowy layers complements the breezy setting, and adding delicate accessories like shell-inspired jewelry or a flower crown of coastal blooms can complete the look. Opt for natural makeup that plays up the bride’s own glow, perhaps with a touch of shimmer to mimic the ocean’s sparkle. For hairstyles, loose waves or a simple braid capture that “just off the beach” feel beautifully.
The decor should echo the coastal theme without overwhelming it. Simple details, like linen table runners, sea glass, and textured baskets filled with flowers in muted, beachy tones, can elevate the space while keeping it uncluttered. Consider adding elements like driftwood, candles in hurricane lanterns, and natural greenery to evoke a relaxed yet polished vibe that fits the beach house inspiration perfectly.
Finally, look for special photo spots around the property: an inviting hammock, a weathered boardwalk, or even a sandy path leading to the water can add depth and a sense of place. Capturing the bride against these elements adds texture to the photos and reinforces the theme.
A beach house inspiration bridal shoot offers endless possibilities to create soft, timeless images with a hint of ocean air and the charm of the shore. With the right blend of styling, natural details, and thoughtful location, this shoot becomes not just a photo session but a true coastal romance story.
Beautiful flowers, great photography.
