A Colorful Modern Shoot with Fun, Florals & How to Plan the Perfect Confetti Photoshoot!
This shoot is all about the popping colours, playfulness and whimsical rock n roll! We’re absolutely obsessed with the pink backdrops, tropical touches and bold colours (plus don’t even get us started on how fun that disco ball is!) It’s full of inspiration for the modern bride looking to create something trendy and oh so cool…
“This styled shoot was truly a creative collab” Said Jamie from Jamie Joe Designs. “Matt Morgan (the photographer) and I wanted to get out of our comfort zone of typical wedding look and create something more modern, trendy… and fun! The millennial pink was a true inspiration for this shoot, as well as playing with other fun pops of colour. We wanted this to be fun, innovative and something to really catch everyone’s eye. With more and more weddings going for the modern look we hope this will inspire more ”think outside the box” looks to reflect a fun and cool couple ready for a good party.”

Tips for Planning the Perfect Confetti Photoshoot
Planning the perfect confetti photoshoot requires a mix of timing, creativity, and a little bit of luck. Whether you’re capturing a wedding exit, a birthday celebration, or just an excuse to throw some color into the air, nailing the shot takes some preparation.
Choosing the Right Confetti
Not all confetti is created equal. Large, lightweight pieces will flutter beautifully, giving your confetti photoshoot that dreamy, slow-motion effect. Tiny pieces? They might look fun in person but can turn into a blurry mess in photos. Biodegradable options are best for outdoor shoots—because no one wants to be the villain who litters nature with plastic.
The Importance of Lighting
Lighting is everything. Harsh midday sun can cast unflattering shadows, while golden hour provides a warm, magical glow that makes every confetti photoshoot look like a scene from a fairytale. If you’re shooting indoors, make sure there’s plenty of natural light, or use soft flash settings to avoid harsh contrasts.
Go Big with Confetti
One thing I’ve learned from years of capturing confetti moments? You need more confetti than you think. A handful won’t cut it—go big or go home! Have your guests or models grab generous scoops and toss them high to extend the magic of the moment. Burst mode on your camera is your best friend here; confetti falls fast, and you don’t want to miss that perfect shot.
Toss or Pop? Finding the Right Effect
Then there’s the all-important question: to toss or to pop? Hand-thrown confetti gives a gentle, fluttery effect, while confetti cannons add an element of surprise and drama. If you opt for poppers, do a test run to see how far and fast they explode—trust me, you don’t want someone disappearing behind a wall of unexpected confetti chaos.
Outfit Choices for a Stunning Confetti Photoshoot
Outfit choice can make or break your confetti photoshoot. Light, solid colors let the confetti shine, while busy patterns might compete for attention. And don’t forget about contrast—white confetti on a white dress? Not ideal. But neon confetti against dark fabric? Stunning.
Embrace the Unexpected
Finally, embrace the unexpected. Confetti has a mind of its own, and sometimes the best shots are the ones where it lands in someone’s hair, sticks to their eyelashes, or swirls around them in a way you never planned. The joy of a confetti photoshoot isn’t in perfection—it’s in the spontaneous, colorful chaos that makes every shot feel like a celebration.
