Best Wedding Venues in Connecticut: Tips and Ideas from a Wedding Blogger Who’s Been to Them All (and Eaten the Cake, Too)
After attending more weddings than your average person gets invited to in a lifetime (perks of the job!), I can confidently say that Connecticut is home to some truly magical wedding venues. Think Gatsby-level elegance meets cozy New England charm. If you’re searching for the perfect place to say “I do” in the Nutmeg State, here are my five favorite wedding venues in Connecticut, along with tips, little surprises, and what I’ve learned—often with a camera in one hand and prosecco in the other.
The Ethan Allen Hotel, Danbury
Let’s start with a venue that completely surprised us: The Ethan Allen Hotel, as seen above in the photos. This place is the perfect blend of luxury and comfort. Their ballrooms have that elegant “blank canvas” quality that photographers and planners drool over, and the in-house décor? Straight out of an editorial spread.
Pro tip: Book a room block for your guests and host an after-party in the cozy lounge. The espresso martinis were dangerously good.
Follow the hotel on Instagram.
The Lace Factory, Deep River
If you’ve ever dreamed of a wedding that looks like it belongs in an indie rom-com starring Florence Pugh, The Lace Factory is the spot. Set inside a restored 19th-century factory, this place has industrial-chic down to a science—think exposed brick, vaulted ceilings, and string lights everywhere. I once attended a summer wedding here where the couple arrived via steamboat from Essex. Yes, an actual steamboat. My jaw? On the floor.
The best part? The ceremony space opens up to the Connecticut River. I still get goosebumps thinking about the golden hour glow on the bride’s veil as she walked down the aisle.

Wadsworth Mansion, Middletown
Now this one’s for the Bridgerton fans. Wadsworth Mansion is pure, old-money opulence without being stuffy. The lawn stretches forever (hello, perfect outdoor ceremony), and the inside is just dripping with chandeliers, tall ceilings, and all the romantic drama your heart desires.
I once helped coordinate a wedding here where it rained sideways—but somehow, the candlelit indoor ceremony turned out even more romantic. Rain plan? Check.
One bride told me, “It felt like getting married in a Jane Austen novel,” and honestly? She nailed it.

Saltwater Farm Vineyard, Stonington
Vineyards tend to have this natural magic about them, and Saltwater Farm Vineyard is no exception. Set inside a transformed WWII-era airplane hangar, the space somehow feels rustic and modern all at once. It’s the only place I’ve seen a couple fly in on a private helicopter and yet still have guests walking barefoot on the grass at golden hour.
The wine is phenomenal, the views are cinematic, and the sunsets? Like a painting. Also: farm-to-table catering options that even the pickiest aunt will rave about.

The Mansion at Bald Hill, Woodstock
Woodstock isn’t just a music festival—it’s also where you’ll find one of the most underrated wedding venues in Connecticut. Tucked in Connecticut’s Quiet Corner, this mansion-turned-inn is perfect for intimate weddings that still feel grand. There’s something about the gardens in late spring that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale.
At a wedding I attended here, the couple read handwritten vows under a trellis of blooming wisteria. I cried. The groom cried. Even the officiant had to take a beat.
Bonus: Their on-site chef makes the best maple-glazed salmon I’ve ever had at a wedding. Ever.

Final Thoughts
What I’ve learned after years of crashing—I mean, covering—Connecticut weddings is this: “wedding venues in Connecticut” aren’t just places. They’re the stage for some of the most powerful, tear-jerking, life-affirming moments you’ll ever witness. The best ones leave a mark on you, like a song you can’t get out of your head or the smell of your grandmother’s perfume.
My advice? Tour them. Feel them. Ask the weird questions. And always, always choose the venue that makes your heart race a little.
