Bright Lights and Big Rides: How to Plan a Luna Park Wedding That’s Full of Colour and Fun!
SPOOKTACULAR DAY OF THE DEAD WEDDING INSPIRATION
This shoot was inspired by everyone’s favorite Mexican holiday Día de las Muertos or ‘Day of the Dead’. This team of wedding experts wanted to showcase a wedding full of bold colors, beautiful costumes, and other festive elements.
“Día de las Muertos is a time when family and friends gather to pray for, honor, celebrate and remember loved ones who have died. A wedding is a perfect time to celebrate and honor our loved ones, past and present!” Began photographer, Jade Min.
“To create an organic and moody feel, we did the shoot on the gorgeous grounds of the Gilbert Riparian Preserve, which has various vegetative zones ranging from marshlands to native riparian and upland vegetation areas. An organic location like a park or botanical garden would be amazing for this wedding theme or a venue with colorful tiles and abstract backdrops would be just as perfect since this theme is all about color, color, color!”
For DIY brides…
“Small photo frames can be purchased from the local dollar/department store. Just add photos of loved ones, which can be held by the wedding party or placed at an alter to honor the deceased.” Jade told us.
“Request local, seasonal flowers for the best value. We love bright and colorful flowers like marigolds, carnations, and roses and feel like they evoke the DOTD theme.” she added.
“The bridesmaids skirts are just layers of dark red tulle with a satin underlining, and can easily be made by someone who knows how to work the sewing machine and for the creatively inclined, the bride’s halo headpiece could easily be made using wooden skewers, a headband, hot glue gun and glue sticks, spray paint, silk roses (or other flowers), glitter, scissors, and other decorative elements like rhinestones and pearls. For our shoot, the bride’s headpiece was created by the amazing Batcakes Couture, who used metal spikes and Swarovski crystals to elevate the design.” Jade explained.
“The sweetheart table was covered with burgundy chiffon and red tulle, which can be purchased at a fabric store. For our table, we used two layers of the burgundy chiffon (5 yards each) and one layer of red tulle (5 yards).”
“This theme is great for couples who love color and want to honor loved ones. And since there is no set color scheme, the theme can fit any budget!”
