Off The Record: Magic, Movies and Making Friends
Over the past few months I have really found myself appreciating the area in which we live more and more! For most of my teenage years I would daydream about moving away and emigrating to warmer climates (Australia has always been my dream!) and although I would still love to spend some time in another country in my lifetime, I have realised that the Forest of Dean really isn’t that bad! When Alethia from Xander and Thea came to visit us this week, we took a walk around Puzzlewood (you can read more about that below) and I was honestly astounded at the history that we had on our doorstep. I think when you have something in your life for so long you take it for granted, but have you taken some time to really appreciate it? I urge you today if you have started to feel fed up with with where you live, go and explore, I really think you will be surprised with what you find?
Emily Loves:
♥ Making my brand new pom pom head crown. Not only does it look fabulous, it was so much fun to make and a certain little kitty called Bam Bam loved playing with the wool. So this is not so much Emily loves, but Bam Bam loves!
♥ Meeting Alethiea the photographer behind Xander & Thea. We will soon be working together on a styled shoot right here in the Forest of Dean. We spent most of Tuesday exploring the magical Puzzlewood best known for playing host to an array of TV programs and films such as Dr Who, Jack the Giant Slayer and Merlin. We were given a guided tour by the owner Helen who told us all about the history of the woodland and took us to the various parts of the forest where filming had taken place. It was so much fun!
♥ Making my own Almond milk, its still not quite as good as Jayne’s from the retreat last weekend but I am getting there!
♥ Walks in the wood with my mum and dads gorgeous doggy!
♥ Jess’s post on Gratitude. She has been telling me to download the gratitude journal for ages now and this weekend, I finally got round to doing it. I am already hooked!
♥ My cute kitty trying to distract me when I am working by laying in my ‘to do’ tray. I think he was trying to tell me I should spend more time giving him attention and cuddles than working. How could I resist his cute little face!
Jess Loves:
♥ Buying interior magazines and admiring all of the amazing decor! I now have a lovely pile of home magazines all piled up with post it notes on the pages that have absolutely blown me away!
♥ A nice peaceful bath when it’s cold and raining outside. There’s something so relaxing about being in a tub filled with hot water when you can hear how gross the weather is on the other side of the window!
♥ Trips to the cinema, large salted popcorn? Yes please!
♥ As Emily said, finally meeting Alethiea from Xander & Thea, she is such a beautiful and lovely lady! We had an awesome day with her touring around puzzle wood, talking about exciting future plans and even photographing a DIY! All will be coming soon on the blog so keep your eyes peeled beauties!
♥ Going to visit my Grandad (or Nanch as we call him!) on his 91st Birthday! That’s my Nan’s 90th and my Grandad’s 91st in the space of 1 month! What an awesome pair!
♥ Getting a juicer! Hello healthy concoction in the morning to kick off the day! I can’t wait to get Jayne’s recipe for the amazing juice we had at the She Is Wild Urban Retreat!!
