You all know how much we love a family run business…even more so when they’re as beautiful as Wedding Rings Direct!! This gorgeous company is in it’s 14th year supplying stunning wedding rings and engagement rings to brides and grooms! We literally cannot wait to share these gorgeous designs with you! We also caught up with Kate to quiz her all about the bespoke process of creating these rings and what makes Wedding Rings Direct such a gem of a company…
What do you offer to your clients?
Our collection is vast and offers customers a lot of different choices that they won’t find on other sites. Our website is designed to guide people through the process of finding their perfect rings. Our bespoke service is also very popular, it allows couples to design their rings completely from scratch alongside our in-house jewellery designer, or bring together elements of certain designs they like from our vast collection on the site. We also offer a service for shaped wedding rings, some brides have an engagement ring which requires a shaped to fit wedding ring in order for it to fit perfectly next to the engagement ring. We can shape wedding rings to the exact shape of the engagement ring in any precious metal.
What makes you different?
The very nature of a bespoke ring is that it will be created especially for you and therefore be completely unique. Inputting your own ideas, whether they be personal or amalgamating a number of ideas from other designs, will create a unique ring which is special to you.
As well as being lower in price than high street shops, we also offer a unique sample service where customers can borrow up to 10 silver rings, for a small charge, with the same features as their real rings; this ensures they are completely happy with the size, profile, width etc. before purchasing their actual rings.
Why are you perfect for our readers?
Wedding Rings Direct are perfect for Bespoke Brides as we can offer a completely bespoke service! We work together with our lovely brides and groom on their bespoke rings and here are some examples of these.
This lovely customer wanted to frame their pretty vintage style engagement ring. As the cluster setting was quite large we needed to take some of the material away from the edge of the wedding band to make for a snug fit. The customer was keen to keep the vintage feel going so small diamonds were grain set along the edge to echo those along the engagement ring. This gave a really nice contrast and framed the ring perfectly.
This plain multi-coloured ring evolved from a more decorative version we sold on the website. It proved to be so popular we added the plain version as a standard product. It is constructed from 3 heavy weight flat rings in white, yellow and rose gold which are then soldered together. We have found that separating them with a fine line in between the different colours helps to differentiate the shades.
This customer had a contemporary engagement ring and the open ended nature of the design presented a few wedding ring options for the bride to be. After going through a number of CAD images, visiting our showroom and actually trying on some slim rings that were solid the couple decided that they would prefer to just echo the design in a plain version. We found that the rings could be worn either square ends together or you could flip it over and line up the round and square ends together giving a contrasting look.
Tell us about The bespoke process?
The bespoke process starts with nailing down a clear list of specifications; width, metal, depth, finger size, stones, design elements (grooves, dots etc) and engraving with the customer; additional inspiration in the form of images or links is also extremely helpful. Once we have a clear understanding of what the customer is after we can start to create a picture, sometimes illustrated by a Computer Aided Design (CAD) image; and then calculate a quote for the piece. It may be that we can suggest a ring similar to one on the site and we will be able to personalise it. The actual workshop process depends largely on the individual job; some jobs require a CAD drawing and a master to be created using a rapid prototyping machine. This will then serve as a master which we then cast from, the casting is then hand finished. The other route is to have something created from start to finish by our in house jeweller from raw materials.
