Off The Record: Celebrations, Collaborations & Challenging Fishee
This week has had a whole host of things for us to look forward to. For me it has been getting to hang out with lots of friends over the weekend. Friday night was spent with a group of my oldest school friends chatting about the future and of course reminiscing over the past. Last night we celebrated another dear friends 30th birthday at Harvey Nichols in Bristol which was very posh and very yummy! For such a long time I never had weekends free as I spent most of them working, nowadays I really cherish my weekends and try to spend it with as many people or doing as much as possible. Thats not to say that I don’t enjoy the odd night in snuggled under a blanket watching a film with Mr T and that is exactly what I will be doing tonight, onesies at the ready!

♥ Reading books in bed. There is now a ‘no phone in bed rule’ that has been enforced in my house. After watching this video on Youtube last week I began to realise just how many moments we miss out on. One of my biggest things I used to love to do was read a couple of pages of a book before I went to sleep. I just don’t seem to do it anymore, claiming I have no time to do that now? After watching that video I realised why? I am too busy checking Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, emails….the list is endless! So no more of that, instead you will find me with my head in a book!
♥ Ikea trips! I could honestly live in Ikea, I have seen so much I would like for our house in there. This weeks focus was on tupperware, yes thats right I said tupperware – thats what you call rock and roll! I went all out on storage jars, containers, boxes, baskets, my house will be organised by the end of the year.
♥ I know I said it last week and I know Jess has written a post on it but I really am in love with the gratitude journal app. It is really starting to make me focus more on what I have rather than what I don’t. So this week I am thankful to Jess for bringing more gratitude into my life!
♥ Unexpected gifts! My mum and dad went away this week to celebrate my dads birthday and when they came back they brought back a little star for me with the quote “It’s The Little Moments That Make Life Big”! How cute is that, its my dads birthday and they still think of bringing back a small present for me. It’s these little thoughtful gifts that mean so much to me, when you see something and instantly think of someone else, that is gratitude right there.
♥ Celebrating the engagement of two my oldest friends with a curry, wine and the best company! What more could you ask for on a Friday night.
♥ Snuggling up under blanket with Mr T and a Orange flavoured Hot Chocolate to watch Castaway. I can’t believe I hadn’t seen this film before. Such an awesome film! It was also quite funny watching Mr T shed a tear as Tom Hanks has to bid farewell to Wilson. Who knew you could get so attached to a football?

♥ The new crab dish I cooked up on Monday, I got the recipe out of the Weight Watchers book and was seriously doubting it as I was cooking it…the smell of the fish sauce…UGH….but I was really pleasantly surprised when I took my first bite! It was delicious! A kind of chilli crab stir fry! YUM!
♥ Visits from Emily Fisher! She came down to see us this week to challenge us to a vlog challenge and it was hilarious! You can see the video HERE! It included marshmallows…chubby bunny…blindfolded drawing and a whole lotta other challenges! You can also subscribe to Emily’s YouTube channel here!
♥ Having lunch with my old friend from school, Hannah. We went to Speech House which is a beautiful hotel in our local area and I had the most amazing mussels!! I love afternoons with Hannah, she’s one of my oldest friends and has known me for 10 years, you know the friends you get together with and no matter how long it’s been since you last seen them it feels like you pick up right where you left off? That’s Hannah. Lot’s of laughing but also one of the best people to speak to about any of your problems, she generally cares and has the best advice!
♥ Finishing Desperate Housewives series 5!! Oooooh this was a cracking ending, the suspense was killing me! Only 3 more series to go..I think? Then it’s on to Breaking Bad cos there’s a hell of a lot of hype about that from everyone! Feeling excited to watch it!
♥ Having lunch with my friend Meg, I know, I know, check me out, lunch out twice in the space of a week! Living the life baby!! We went to our favourite italian restaurant together, I hadn’t seen her for months because she works away a lot so it was so so so nice to finally catch up (and exchange Christmas presents!) and of course, eat lots of delicious italian food!
♥ Celebrating our friend Ed’s 30th Birthday! There was 18 of us that went out for a meal at Harvey Nichols and it was a really special night! Yummy cocktails, unbelievably good food and great company.
