A Fun Neon Twist Inspired Styled Shoot
Being part of such a diverse wedding industry inspired photographer Michelle from Silverstar Photographic to devise a shoot that highlighted just how talented some suppliers are. Inspired by the surroundings of the Custard Factory she created this fabulously colourful shoot illustrating exactly just how creative wedding suppliers can get.
“I love coming up with ideas for photoshoots that show off the gorgeous talents of other suppliers. They are what make my photo shoots come to life. I really wanted to create something real and that you may wonder if this was actually a wedding or a styled photoshoot, therefore I wanted a couple who were genuinely together that weren’t models. Kerry and David were brilliant, such a loved up engaged couple who felt this would be good for them to prepare for their wedding day and they really made the shoot fun!
I approached Julia at ‘Dresses by Julia’ to create the dress in a 50’s style with a neon twist but it still looking like a bridal gown. She did a fantastic job as always and the dress was gorgeous with the pink petticoat peeking out the bottom. I also asked Jenny from ‘Revivemeboutique’ to create the shoes and provide some jewellery as I knew this shoot would be right up her street! Emma at ‘Beaubuttons’ sent over the amazing neon bouquet, which fitted in perfectly and then we came to the hair and make up. We wanted the hair to be quite simple so we could show off the lovely hair clip which was provided also by Emma and the make up was the thing we wanted to stand out. Danii our make up artist did an amazing job as always.
We photographed the couple first around Selly Oak as we had heard about some awesome graffiti around there and then moved on into the heart of Digbeth in Birmingham. We shot in and around the Custard factory as well as the surrounding areas. It is such a perfect place for shoots like this as there is always fun graffiti on the walls, amazing architecture with it yet still looking quite grungy. A perfect place for an alternative wedding!
I mainly created this shoot to still remind brides to be that there are ‘alternatives’ to the norm when it comes to weddings. It is so important to be yourself and the amount of suppliers out there who can now make this happen is overwhelming. Thank you to everyone involved, it was awesome!

My Favourite things from this shoot has to be brides makeup and her fabulous shoes. I really need to get me some of them! How about the shot with the groom and his skateboard, I know loads of guys (& girls actually!) that would love their skateboard to be part of their day!
Much Bespoke Love
