Off The Record: Planning for Paradise, Picking Polka Dots & Please welcome Lydia!

This week has been very exciting for us as we announce the news that team Bespoke Bride has now gone from being just 2 to 3. We are thrilled to welcome Jess’s sister, Lydia as our new fancy schmancy Operations Assistant which means she will be looking after a lot of our social media as well as writing posts and handling some of our photography. It is very handy having her around as she is very much like Jess in the way that she thinks meaning we pretty much have two Jess’s around now and believe me you can never have too many Jess’s!
In other news we headed off to Kuoni in Bristol yesterday to finalise all the details of our trip to the Maldives. I have never been so excited in all my life! I looked at the pictures of the hotel for the first time with my mum and dad yesterday and gosh I wanted to cry, it looks like paradise!
It won’t be long until we can start packing….eeek!! Here is what else we have been loving this week…
Emily Loves…
♥ Polka Dots! Ok well this is not unusual for me as I generally love anything with polka dots, but my dotty obsession took a turn for the worse this week when I couldn’t choose between a top with orange polka dots or blue polka dots so I bought both – standard!
♥ Homemade curry! My dad cooks the most amazing English Vegetarian curry and a few months back he shared his secret recipe with me. Ever since I have been trying to master it and by golly I think I may have nailed it this week!
♥ What do you when all you have in the house is chocolate, corn flakes, butter and golden syrup – Make chocolate covered rice flake cakes of course!
♥ American Horror Story! Ok so one thing everyone should know about me is that I am pretty much scared of my own shadow at all times, day or night. I have never been able to watch scary films, mostly because I freak out that much I give myself a migraine and I get sick – true story. Anyway one night whilst I was working in front of the tv, Mr T decided it would be a good idea to start watching American Horror Story on Netflix and before I knew it I was hooked! How can this be?
♥ Gardening! The weather this week has been fairly horrendous but between showers we are slowly making our way through the garden, we now have a herb garden and will spend this week creating our two new vegetable patches. I am so excited, my garden has to be one of my most favourite places right now, even if it does look like a bomb has hit it.
♥ Colouring up my office with bits and pieces from our latest shoot with Strange Case Collective. I felt awful about leaving such amazing decorations in a bin bag, so I decided to get them out and put them on display, just how they should be!
Jess Loves…
♥ Watching McBusted in concert! That’s right I said it! Am I cool? No. Do I care? Hell no! They were bloody brilliant and had everyone up out of their seats having a great time! I loved it!
♥ Road trips to Cornwall! Me & James headed down there for a couple of days this week as an early birthday celebration for myself, I think I love the travelling almost as much as the destination! Snacks, music, singing, satnavving & laughing!
♥ Exploring little towns in Cornwall! We stayed in this really cute place called Wadebridge, it reminded me of Chepstow (a town close to us) and I loved just nosing around the quirky little shops, we even found a delicious Italian restaurant!
♥ Cooking for Emily! I know she loves thai food so last night I cooked up a prawn & mango stir fry and it was pretty darn good if I say so myself! AND she actually finished it, because if you know Emily well you’ll know that there’s often food left on her plate at the end of a meal!
♥ Finally finishing the Desperate Housewives series! I’ve seen it before but James has now successfully watched all 8 series with me, let’s just say, it’s been emotional. Even the second time around I was a blubbering mess in the last few episodes!
