At Bespoke Bride we believe colour and creativity are a match made in heaven! We celebrate individuality with daily doses of stylish wedding loveliness and tutorials to inspire couples to create a wedding that is personal and unique.
Whether it is Rustic or Retro, Backyard or Beach, DIY or DIT, all we ask is that you incorporate your superstar selves into your wedding in some way!
In return we promise to provide you with plenty of fabulous inspiration as well as connecting you with the unique & creative businesses that can make it happen!
Meet the Founders
We are Emily Pettiford & Jessica Turley, jolly good friends and founders of Bespoke Bride, which we founded in 2011 after a dabbling in our own startup wedding businesses. The blog was a great way to collate inspiration, chat about our own ideas and share our own products and images. Over time we realised we were beginning to spend more time blogging and as our own passion for our own independant business fizzled out, the blog became our main focus. We wanted to create a platform where we could share the weddings we had come to love, those that were detailed, original, creative and innovative – those that reflected the true personality and character of the couples themselves!
We are dedicated to inspiring couples who are in the process of planning a wedding to enjoy it, have fun, dream big and above all else… create the wedding of your wildest dreams! Its your day after all.
Emily Pettiford
Hello! I’m Emily, nature enthusiast and crazy cat lady! I live with my my boyfriend, otherwise known as Mr T and our fur baby, Mr Popo! When not blogging I can often be found out in nature, gardening and taking photos of wildlife, writing stories and dreaming of travelling the world!
I have always loved to write, create and design and it was this interest that led me to into the wedding blogosphere. I am passionate about positivity, I giggle a lot and I love to sing!
Jessica Turley
Hey you! I’m Jess, lover of all things colourful, unique & creative! I love collecting beautiful books, eating Italian food and the feeling of sand between my toes! I have a terrible habit of not being able to say no to clothes (hence why I rarely go shopping and delete any emails named 25% off at Asos!) You’ll often see me with a camera in my hands and travelling is one of my favourite things to do (I have one of those big ol’ wall maps and I intend to stick as many pins in it as I can!) I too am passionate about positivity and really believe that keeping your mind and attitude positive can have huge effects on your life!
OFFICIAL BIO
Described as a ‘Kickass blog that helps brides avoid a cliché ridden, cookie cutter wedding”, Bespoke Bride was lovingly founded by two fiercely individual girls, Emily Pettiford & Jessica Turley. Launched in 2011, as a personal way to journal quirky and creative wedding photography, decor & DIY’s, Emily & Jessica focused on creating a blog that would inspire couples to design a wedding that was creative, crafty & full of character.
2015 saw the launch of Bespoke Brides new online store. BB Boutique is the UK’s first online marketplace dedicated to all things wedding. Emily & Jess discovered there was a need for such a place, after receiving countless supplier enquiries from couples all over the UK, looking for fun, quirky and inspirational wedding businesses.
The boutique has been carefully curated and hosts a pretty spectacular array of wedding suppliers all ready to help couples create a wedding as unique as they are!
Since its launch in 2011, Bespoke Bride has already garnered it fair share of award nominations being voted ‘Best DIY wedding Blog’ by Wedding Magazine, as well as receiving a Highly Commended Award for ‘Best for Bridal’ by Cosmopolitan Magazine. Other notable achievements include being voted into Bride Tides Top 100 wedding blogs from 2013 to 2015. Another particular highlight was being listed as one of the UK’s top 10 wedding blogs by Channel 4’s Scrapbook.
Emily and Jessica are enthusiastic when it comes to building relationships with publishers both in print and online and have been featured in magazines such as Wedding & Wedding Flowers, Perfect Wedding, Marie Claire and the UK’s fastest selling wedding magazine, Rock n Roll Bride. Blog features have included articles on Wedding Chicks, Festival Brides and Mr & Mrs Unique as well as being a regular contributor to Style Me Pretty.

Hello! My name is Hayley and I actually got engaged last weekend! We have already decided on our location and are planning on June next year,I love your Dr. Seuss ideas but am struggling as to wether I go with pastels or bright colours!I’m not really sure how this site works but it would be great to gain any advice on colours, decorations, bridesmaids etc etc etc!!! Thank you very much!
Hi Hayley, HUGE congratulations on your engagement! We are glad you like the Dr. Seuss idea it has been very popular with our readers, its so colourful and you can have so much fun with it! Our personal opinion is to go bright colours, pastels have sort of had their day for now, lets give the brights a chance! Obviously you can keep it fairly simple with just a few pops of colour or go all out with the Dr. Seuss theme, it depends how brave you are and what you already have in mind. Our best advice would be to create a pinterest board full of your ideas that way you can decide what will or wont work. If you ever need any more advice just drop us a comment. Goodluck!
