A DIY Pink & Gold Bridal Shower
Here is what I love about today’s bridal shower. First its a shower and we don’t share them too often here (but we should!). Second I love the styling, it’s so pretty! And finally its full of DIY by friends and family, which makes it that little bit extra special so when photographer and friend of the bride Kitae, asked if we would like to share this with you we couldn’t resist!
Here is the gorgeous bride to be Hanna to tell you more…
Kitae flew in from Georgia just a couple of days before the bridal shower. I work with my maid of honor, Vanessa as we are high school teachers. She actually had lunch with me the day before the event. It turned out, after our lunch, she met up with the other girls to decorate. My two other bridesmaids were Min (a new mom with a lovely 5 month old, Kylie) and Kim (who was finishing up her finals that week). So based on their circumstances I knew it was a monstrous task for these girls to put together such an event, however they pulled it off beautifully.
The main colors were pink and gold just like my wedding. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was a creatively set table adorned with a gold vintage table liner, pink bubbly drinks in champagne glasses, glass vases filled with pink and ivory flowers, popcorn favors glazed with pink syrup in mason jars with the words “He Popped the Question, and She said Yes!,” and cute pink poms as napkin holders (found out later it was put together by Min’s husband and Kitae’s brother). Similar bigger poms in pastel pink and yellow ran along the top of the table. One of my favorite decoration was on the gift table. It was a cut out of the United States with two pink hearts in New York (where my fiance lives) and South Florida (where I live).
The food reflected the dynamic cultures that came together as well. There were pastelitos (cuban pastries from Vanessa), Korean style potato salad sandwiches and radish wraps (made by Kitae’s mom) and the usual fruit parfait. The special gifts to the guests also incorporated pink thanks to my bridesmaid Min, who is an assistant manager at Victoria’s Secret! I had a blast and so did the guests that attended. I know this wouldn’t have been possible without my wonderful, hardworking, dedicated and creative bridesmaids and their families!

It would be fab if we could see more showers like this! I know it is more of a thing in the States than here but I just think it would be ace to have these memories captured forever, especially when the shower is as personalised as this. Let me know if you are thinking of giving it a go and if you already have please share your images with us!
Have a great day!
