The Online Wedding Show Presents Mr Magoriums Wedding Emporium
If you have been a regular reader of Bespoke Bride you will have heard some time back that we had decided to embark on this biggest business venture of our lives and launch a very unique concept called The Online Wedding Show. Fast forward almost 2 years and we are excited to announce that our dream is finally set to become a reality. No one could have predicted the sheer size of this project and there has been more than one occasion where we have wondered whether our dream would ever become a reality, but the idea is now full steam ahead and we couldn’t be more excited!
We wanted to launch the site with a bang so we teamed with some of the very best in the industry to produce a campaign that was vibrant, stylish and lots of fun and I hope you will agree that they have done the most amazing job!
You might wonder why we chose the theme of ‘Mr Magoriums Wonder Emporium’. Well I have had a slight obsession with that film ever since it first came out. I loved the colourful visuals, the magic and the wonder, all of which were great concepts for a shoot. The theme fit wonderfully with the eclectic vibe of Bespoke Bride as we were keen to make the shoot instantly recognizable, taking inspiration from our colourful branding and bold prints. If you have not been introduced to the film then you might be wondering what it is all about. Mr Magorium is the owner of the strangest, most fantastic, most wonderful toy store in the world, full of magical bits and bobs, where everything has its own personality. This is kind of how I see The Online Wedding Show, a unique platform where couples can quite literally create the wedding of their dreams with products and services that ooze personality and character.
In the lead up to the shoot our biggest challenge was getting the right location. We had originally wanted a venue with lots of white space, in order to make our choice of colours pop; however after going to look at the Blackfriars Priory in Gloucester we were instantly drawn to its cute charm. The outdoor courtyard was perfect, with miniature doors and a range of rustic coloured bricks which tied in well with our vision.
To bring the theme together we had to draw in some help and who better than creative duo, Sophie & Laura of Strange Case, who along with Yvette of the Flower Barn, travelled all the way from Liverpool to bring our visions to life! We had wanted to work with Sophie & Laura for some time as we had seen their masterpieces on our blog and had been trying to find ways in which to work together, so when it came to the styling we knew we had to have them. It was like they crawled into our minds and extracted everything we could have wanted and more. There were brightly coloured, fans, pinwheels, garlands and pom poms, whilst Yvette had created the most amazing floral designs to adorn the tablescape.
Our stationery was designed by Miranda Etheridge of Style and Joy. We have long been fans of her stationery and you would have seen her gracing the pages of our blog more than once. The stationery she provided was part of one of her fabulous ranges called ‘YAY’. The bold geometric print and eye-catching colour fitted in a treat. It was almost as though it had been especially designed for our theme and we couldn’t have asked for better.
The abundance of colour didn’t just stop at the decor; the models wore brightly coloured dresses from Oh My Honey and later the most fabulous designs from super stylish designer Federica Bruno. We had a small bit of dilemma with our male model Harrison, as on the day of the shoot, the suits didn’t arrive so we had to improvise a little by making a quick dash to Topman! We were pleasantly surprised with the offerings in there and teamed with a little Crown & Glory, his outfits worked better than those we had originally picked (everything happens for a reason!).
Maddy of Wedding Paint did the most amazing job with the makeup and hair. She knew exactly the look we were going for with bright pops of colour on the eyes and lips and she is an absolute delight to work with. She was the life and soul of the day and honestly made us laugh so much that I think we all come away from the shoot with achy jaws and ribs.
Our dear friend, Paula of The Giant Balloon Company, provided the balloons. I would say she had one of the most difficult jobs of the day as the wind blew so hard I was wondering whether she was going to take off with them (I imagined a very Mary Poppins-esque moment at one point!). Despite the weather she battled on and we couldn’t have thanked her enough, she is a little gem. Even when on her way home, her van broke down on the motorway she still had her sense of humour, nothing ever seems to faze her and that is why we love her!
The phenomenal wedding cake and Meringues were supplied by Curtis & Co cakes. We contacted Jennie pretty last minute about the cake and despite being crazy busy, she still managed to find the time to design this beautiful rainbow coloured creation with matching meringues. I can also confirm that these were delicious as we each had a couple as a well-deserved end of the day treat – it would have been rude not to!
Lastly we need to give a huge thank you to our photographer, who despite quite literally being run off her feet, train delays and early mornings made it all the way from London to take photos of the day. Martina has been one of our biggest supports since we started Bespoke Bride and we were thrilled that we were finally able to work with her. She captured the whole shoot amazingly and I am so happy that we finally got to meet!
Next week stay tuned for the video from the day courtesy of Jess’s other half James of Just Say Yes Films, he has done a fantastic job and we can’t wait to show a little bit of behind the scenes!
So that is it folks, the shoot that will see the launch of our new site next year!
Thank you to each of our suppliers who helped, thank you for travelling to the deepest darkest depths of Gloucestershire, thank you for posting, packing and creating and thank you for being our friends, we could never have done it without you!
