A few years ago while me and Emily were in California we had the pleasure of meeting the fabulous Deborah Lindquist, we instantly felt a connection to Deborah and her breathtakingly beautiful gowns and just knew that working together would be a match made in heaven! All of Deborah’s dresses are stylish, eco friendly and above all completely bespoke, so you can imagine how excited we were to meet her! Ever since we’ve been following Deborah’s work and we’re so pleased to feature a shoot here on Bespoke Bride today featuring her gorgeous gowns! Over to Deborah to tell you more…
“The St. Patrick’s Day Wedding Inspiration Stylized Shoot was actually dreamt up by Suzy Van Dyke, the wedding photographer who created this shoot. I often collaborate with Suzy and her husband Lukas on their many stylized shoots and features of their country wedding location in Kentucky. They are both so creative and lovely to work with, and as you may know, a great photo takes so much more than just technical ability. It takes an artistic and creative eye.
The moody, misty sky and lush green surroundings perfectly reflected the rugged landscape and rainy weather patterns often found in Ireland, where the cultural and religious holiday St Patricks Day originated. Although photographed in Southern California, the location looks particularly Irish on that sometimes drizzly day.
My part was actually quite simple. I supplied the gowns and Suzy did everything else! Since many brides today choose to wear 2 dresses on their wedding day—a more formal gown for the ceremony, and another, perhaps dance friendly dress for the reception, we thought it would be fun to feature 2 similar gowns. Interestingly I had already designed 2 versions of basically the same gown.
The shorter version Brittany Gown is named after one of my real brides, the popular blogger Britt Hilgers of Bowie Bride. I was lucky enough to design this gown for her and be featured often on her blog. Here is how she feels about having a gown named after her: “My fabulous wedding gown designer, Deborah Lindquist, named a gown after me. How freaking cool is that?”
The pale blush colored Brittany Gown is a metallic embroidered sari and silk charmeuse gown with a strapless, crystal beaded bodice and a full skirt with English net and silk chiffon ruffles.. A crinoline layer adds a bit of light volume to the skirt, and a gathered layer of English net is pulled back to create a center back bow. Flirty and feminine, it’s a perfect dance friendly gown.
The more formal Devi Gown is similarly pale blush colored metallic embroidered sari and silk charmeuse with crystal beading, but with a long full silk charmeuse skirt. Romantic and elegant, the metallic embroidery reflects just the right amount of light, and exemplifies the Regal, Metallic trend we’re seeing in wedding gowns today.
Christine and Rich Yodsukar are the real life husband-and-wife couple featured in this romantic story. Christine is a flawless, Irish looking bride with pale skin and a garland of flowers in her beautiful long red hair. How perfect is that close up shot of her in the crown?”
