They shared their styling tips for creating a modern and bold wedding design…
“Monochrome will never go out of fashion, balance the bold look of black and white with pops of bright colour, punctuated with organic and textural details for a striking yet sophisticated aesthetic.
We dressed the tables with striped linens to add a real wow-factor and command just enough attention to showcase a bright and bold design. Use decor pieces of varying heights for an unstructured and effortless style whilst mixing a wow-factor centrepiece with smaller arrangements and simple bud vases bursting with bright-coloured florals. We used Kate Spade owl vases to add a fun feel, why not get creative and take a sharpie to plain white ceramics for a similar look.
We made the perfect place settings by mixing a variety of monochrome patterns and textures to make a real style statement! We had Rob Ryan hand-drawn plates, sit atop pure white chargers and a pressed-vinyl Dahlia placemat and folded custom-made polka-dot napkins to look like bow-ties for a fun little twist. Our place name cards sat within cute polka-dotted animals, perfect to double up as a unique favour idea.
Forget the formal wedding breakfast, street food is the modern bride’s choice for truly authentic and hip wedding cuisine. Here in the UK, the street food revolution is booming, with everyone from artisan suppliers to the down and dirty food trucks offering a variety of influences, inspirations and flavours.
We thought it would be so much fun to serve up a selection of tantalizing temptations like Asian kebabs and dumplings, Indian Chaat, British pies, Mexican torn pork burritos, crepes, gourmet ice cream, organic vegetarian cuisine and even oysters…the possibilities really are endless! It brings a relaxed and fun edge to your day so is perfect for those of you planning a festival-style, outdoors or non-traditional wedding day. Getting creative with your food is also a great way to inject some personality into your wedding; create a special dish named after you both, serve food you discovered on your travels or dishes to reflect your heritages.
A personalised paper suite with a fun logo or motif like this simple bow-tie adds fun and personality to your wedding design, ensuring it’s unique to you. A cute idea would be to attach labels with bakers twine or washi tape for that homemade feel. For an added special touch cocktail napkins can easily be customised too using a bespoke stamp and hot pink ink.
Naked cakes are de rigeur right now, they’re the antithesis of the fluffy, frothy, ten-tier extravagances of generations gone by. They not only look cool but will have guests drooling for a taste, simply dress them with flowers to maintain that raw, unstructured vibe. Unique and interesting props and installations will fill your venue space with colour and dazzle, perfect for creating that party ambience and a great backdrop for unique photo’s of the day. For a funky backdrop you could use low-tack vinyls to create a polka-dot wall, perfect for a unique DIY Photo Booth. Paper decor is great for adding pops of colour to a blank canvas space, either make your own tissue-paper garlands or buy ready made ones and mix them up with honeycomb pom-poms in a range of bright colours.
