A BOLD TWIST TO A WOODLAND WEDDING IN A TREEHOUSE!
The words ‘Treehouse Wedding’ were enough to excite me, so when I saw just how cute and quirky today’s wedding was, I couldn’t wait to share it with you guys! Set in a quaint tree house situated on a 200 year old Yellowwood tree, this wedding is seriously giving a whole new meaning to the term woodland wedding, I mean how much closer to nature could you get?
Enjoy!
Not long after setting the date, we began scouting out locations for our wedding. Zane and I have always had a keen interest in the outdoors so we were ideally looking for a venue where we could be close to nature. After many failed attempts at finding the venue we were hoping for, it was at a bridal fair that I met the lovely Kerry Austin, who mentioned to me that her venue was set in a treehouse and we were invited to Sunday lunch and to view the venue! From the time we entered the gates of this enchanting place, we were in awe of the beauty it held. It was like our fairytale had come to life! A drive up a dirt road through the hillside leads to the quaint bushbuck treehouse which is set on a 200 year old Yellowwood tree. When you enter the venue you can’t help but to be overwhelmed by the warmth and love of this place. The food was so humble, like mom’s delicious old recipes that leave you wanting more, and so we were hooked!
In the early stages of planning our wedding we had so many ideas of what we wanted but something just wasn’t working. As time progressed we realized that we didn’t want our wedding to look like a Christmas box. So instead we opted to go for bold rich colors that would pop against natural tones. We made the entire decor so it would be unique to us, including the initialed Z&S napkins, wedding post box and Seringa wood placemats. We also made our own personalized self-grown succulent and cacti favors, as well as the stationery and an initialed aisle runner. We even made the wood vine champagne flutes, cake cutter and the table place setting boards! We are influenced by so many cultures, religions and traditions that it was important that our whole wedding was an expression of us.

Why I Love the Idea of a Woodland Wedding in a Treehouse
Enchantment and Whimsy
There’s something truly enchanting about a woodland wedding in a treehouse. Imagine being surrounded by the gentle rustle of leaves, birds serenading you, and the earthy scent of pine in the air. It’s like stepping into a fairy tale, where nature itself is your cathedral. The whimsy and magic of a treehouse wedding bring out the inner child in all of us, fulfilling those childhood dreams of living high above the ground.
Ambiance and Intimacy
One of the best aspects of a treehouse wedding is the unparalleled intimacy and seclusion. You’re in your own little world, away from the hustle and bustle. The natural surroundings create a serene backdrop, allowing you to focus on what truly matters: the love you share with your partner. Plus, the view is unbeatable, with the golden light of dawn or the soft hues of sunset filtering through the leaves.
Overcoming Logistical Challenges
Logistically, a treehouse wedding might seem challenging. Sure, you have to consider accessibility and space, but that’s part of the adventure. Imagine a rope bridge leading to the ceremony site or fairy lights strung along the pathway. It’s like something out of a fantasy novel! Embracing these challenges adds to the uniqueness of the experience.
Personal Experience and Symbolism
On a personal note, attending a woodland wedding, even if not in a treehouse, was magical. The couple chose a clearing in the woods, and the natural beauty enhanced the emotional impact of their vows. A treehouse symbolizes growth and a solid foundation, much like the relationship you’re celebrating.
Conclusion
A woodland wedding in a treehouse is not just an event; it’s an experience, a story waiting to be told. It’s a celebration of love, not just between two people, but with the world around them. If you’re considering it, go for it! You’ll create memories that will last a lifetime and a story that will be told with a twinkle in your eye.
Wow! What an absolutely stunning wedding! Not only do they look amazing but the venue is out of this world! What an amazingly talented couple as well, those champagne flutes are AMAZING!
