OFF THE RECORD: FESTIVALS, FAIRS & FEATURES!
Follow Bespoke Bride on Instagram!
I feel like we say this every month but ‘wow’, can you believe that September is nearly over!
It has been a whirlwind of a month and I have to admit I am quite glad it is coming to an end. Of course lots of fun things happened, we shipped our first BB Crafty Club boxes, which was super exciting!! We were shortlisted for two Wedding Blog Awards (thank you to all that voted for us!), we attended Blogstock and spent the weekend at Kirstie Allsopp’s Handmade Fair with the very lovely Cricut UK team, but for me September had an impending sense of doom as last week I had to be admitted into hospital for an operation. I had known about the op for a few months but nothing quite prepares you for your first time going under the knife and I was absolutely terrified. Thankfully everything went well and I have been given firm instructions to rest up for two weeks so Jess has taken the reigns, as well as being my nurse for the day.
Of course the upside to resting is that I have had lots of free time to research loads of awesome links for today’s Off The Record, so enjoy!
EMILY LOVES…
♥ Rock n Roll Bride Magazine! We were featured you guys!! I was sooo excited to get my hands on issue 4 and as always it looked soooooo amazing! We would love to know your thoughts on our Ombre Tulle Skirts and if you didn’t manage to get your hands on a copy, you can still see the DIY here.
♥ Spending the long Bank Holiday Weekend in the Gower! I love camping! For me there is nothing better than getting right back to basics to clear my mind. We did lots of walking, eating and relaxing which was just what the doctor had ordered before the rest of September became jam packed!!
♥ Meeting Bill Oddie at Blogstock! Those of you that have been reading the blog will know I am a naturalist at heart! When I am not blogging I am either a.) In the garden trying to find wildlife b.) Trying to take photos of wildlife c.) Watching documentaries or d.) Reading about wildlife! So you can imagine my pure excitement at finding out Bill Oddie would be guest speaking at Blogstock. Not only that, he would be joined by Mark Avery, whose campaigns I have watched progress via his blog and twitter. The talk was fantastic and I really enjoyed listening to their views on responsible tourism, as well the rude wit & humour.
♥ In other news, we totally won a holiday to Copenhagen!!! Whilst at Blogstock, Danish Eatery Snaps & Rye were hosting a competition to find the best Instagram photo of their food and we did it! Check our Instagram to see the winning pic!
♥ Celebrating the engagement of Sophie & Gareth (Crown & Glory)!!! The evening consisted of lots of hugs, squeals, kisses and wedding talk, whilst drinking copious amounts of alcohol and getting a groove on! Now that’s a celebration!!!
♥ Finally being homebound has made me realise even more, just how amazing and supportive my family and friends are! Everyone has been so wonderfully helpful and I can’t thank them enough for all the tea, chocolate, flowers & love I have been showered in! You guys are the best!
JESS LOVES…
♥ Spending the weekend at Centre Parcs for James’ birthday! We had so much fun playing board games, spending time on the slides and the rapids and chilling out!
♥ Visiting the Handmade Fair in London! It was filled with sooooo many amazing companies and workshops!
♥ Having a girlie day with Em! Cue blankets, fish & chips and ‘Pitch Perfect 2’! Ok ok we also had chocolate and lots of tea!
♥ Packing our camping gear and wellies and heading to Blogstock! It was so cool to sit in on talks in tipis & indulge in festi foods.
♥ Baths in hotel rooms. Anyone else think this is the best thing ever?!
♥ Spending the day at Weston Super Mare! We actually really wanted to see Dismaland but just missed it by a day, but we decided to head up there anyway. We got to see some of the sculptures peeking over the top and then we headed to the pier for some arcade games!
