PERFECT PRISMATIC WEDDING INSPIRATION
When me and Emily go through our submissions to the blog we like to ask ourselves a few questions when reviewing them…Is it fun? Is it modern? Does it fit our brand? Will our readers love it? And when we saw this shoot in our inbox it was obvious the answers to all of the questions were HELL YES! Besides, you guys know that we’re suckers for geometric shapes and bright bold colours!
ABOUT THE SHOOT…
“When I was working on styling for this shoot, I specifically wanted to incorporate elements that aren’t frequently seen on Pinterest. While I think that paper bouquet’s and bouquet’s made from Christmas balls are unique and can be very tastefully done, I just simply think the look of real florals can’t be beat! That’s why I decided to style the bouquet as a mixture of both real flowers and unique, sculptural elements. The design of the bouquet and sculptures informed all of the other elements of this shoot: a simple dress with a cute silhouette, the geometric shapes on the models necklace, her hair in the shape of a bow, her brightly colored lipstick and chunky, bold shoes, the simple but colorful designs on the cakes, and the bold shapes within the paper designs. The idea was to work with a rainbow spectrum of colors – a very rare thing for brides to do with their real weddings – and do it in a way that really worked. I approached the styling with the primary palette being bright white, and adding in pops of flat, bright color. Even the choice of the model’s nail color being black was intentional, to help balance the array of bright color choices. I hope this type of shoot can inspire brides to really think outside of ‘Pinterest’ and find wedding vendors who can collaborate with one another; who share a passion for creating unique and personal elements. Even a rainbow palette can be beautiful when a couple invests in fabulous artists”
